Edwin and Genise were at the Altaira Fortress located in the eastern border region of the Grand Duchy of Sutton. Beyond the border lay the Kingdom of Illione, and beyond that, the Kingdom of Tudram.
"Don’t even think of it. Her Majesty said no," Genise said, her voice breaking Edwin's focus as he looked down at the Kingdom of Illione from the highest point of the fortress.
She was holding back her hair as it blew in the wind, her gaze fixed on Edwin. His green eyes met her sky-blue ones, and he glanced away, focusing on her blonde hair instead.
“Feels like it’s fall,” he said.
“Don’t change the subject,” she responded.
Edwin knew she wouldn’t let it go, and he chuckled as he looked back down at the fortress.
“They won’t last long even if we don’t interfere.”
The situation was dire not just for Illione, which shared a border with Seven Hills, but also for Tudram beyond it.
