A week passed, and Loretta's condition had improved considerably.
She was still undergoing treatment and had not regained her full strength, but she could now sit comfortably for longer periods and move around without assistance.
That afternoon, she was sitting in the garden with Lydia, chatting quietly, when Harris approached.
"Madam, Mr. Julian is here to see you."
Loretta looked up in surprise. "Julian?"
Harris nodded.
Loretta smiled faintly. "I will join him shortly."
Harris nodded and left.
A few moments later, Julian walked into the garden carrying several gift bags.
The moment he saw Loretta sitting, his expression softened.
"Good to see you awake."
Loretta smiled. "Thank you for coming."
Julian placed the gifts beside her.
"I brought these for you."
"You didn't have to," Loretta said.
"I wanted to."
Loretta glanced at the gifts before looking back at him. There was something else she wanted to ask.
"Julian."
"Hmm?"
