Loretta remained lying on the bed after Kevin left. She stared at the ceiling, trying to make sense of everything that had happened.
She wondered what must have happened to make Kevin decide that the hospital was not safe and have a medical facility arranged in the estate instead.
But the biggest question was how long she had been unconscious.
She wondered what had been happening since she became unconscious. Did Julian get another assistant? What about the South Front project?
She turned her head slightly toward the window. The sunlight outside made it difficult to tell how much time had passed.
Loretta looked toward the door. She wanted to get up, walk around, and perhaps find out today's date, but she was still too weak to move much.
She eventually closed her eyes.
She must have fallen asleep again because when she opened them, the room looked different. Someone had drawn the curtains.
The door opened, and Lydia walked in carrying a tray.
