Rosamund
"He reminds me of Nathanael, and I hate that he's everything I wish Nathanael were to me." She turned, her eyes meeting mine. "I hate you, Rosamund," she scoffed. "You are just like me, and yet you have men pinning over you. I see the way he treats you despite all the pain you've caused him. His heart, his love for you has never once changed..." she sighed. "I don't want you to be happy."
"Is that why you choose to take him like this?" I asked again.
"Yes," she turned to me, her chin lifting in defiance. "No one has the right to enjoy the things I've never had."
"Fine, you kill Nevan, I become lonely, and I have the baby. It may take a few years, maybe five or six, but I'll find love again. Someone will make me forget about losing Nevan, and what will you do? Come after my son? Wait for him to grow and love someone else? Isn't that tiring? Subjecting yourself to years of waiting and hatred? Do you even love yourself?"
