Chapter 165 - 165 Emergency Teleport

Silas stared directly at Gliscor before he laughed in a peculiar way.

"Hahaha! I can admit I underestimated you, but I promise you I will make you pay for trying to kill Excadrill."

The threat wasn't empty.

Silas could still feel Excadrill's weakened presence from inside his Poké Ball. He was alive and would recover, but watching one of his Pokémon almost die had ignited a cold anger inside him.

One of the cloaked men sneered.

"Show us instead of talking. This is the battlefield, survival of the fittest. If you have the ability to kill then kill. It's just that simple. You are a fool to get all emotional like you didn't just try to kill Gliscor. Typical childish behavior."

Silas' expression immediately became serious, he knew the man was right but he didn't care.

They would pay dearly for trying to kill his pokemon even if he attacked them too.

"Politoed, activate Drizzle. Poliwrath, use Rain Dance."

The Court member laughed.

"Hahaha! This is your great plan? The same tactics won't work twice on us."

Despite the man's confidence, there was nothing he could do to prevent Drizzle from activating.

Stopping a Pokémon from executing Rain Dance was possible. You simply needed to interrupt the Pokémon before it could gather enough Water type energy to properly influence the weather.

An ability was different.

Drizzle was like a natural extension of Politoed's will. All he had to do was think about rain and it would rain.

More importantly, Politoed had spent a tremendous amount of time mastering its control over the ability.

Politoed raised his head and croaked loudly.

The sky responded almost immediately. Dark clouds gathered overhead in less than 2 seconds and then rainfall followed.

Heavy droplets splashed l across the battlefield, soaking Pokémon and humans alike as the ground quickly became slick beneath their feet.

Goodra couldn't prevent Drizzle from activating but it looked very comfortable in the rain. It was like a fish that just escaped the land and found its way back into the ocean.

The 2 Pangoro, however, understood exactly what Silas intended next. They became even more aggressive.

Both pushed forward against the Poliwrath, attacking relentlessly and refusing to give either one enough breathing room to properly execute Rain Dance.

Silas narrowed his eyes.

Fine, if they wanted close quarters fighting, then he would make sure they had their fill and then some.

"Poliwrath, both of you use Dynamic Punch!"

The rain had already changed the battle.

Both Poliwrath felt their Swift Swim activate, causing their speed increased dramatically.

The 2 Water types suddenly became blurs compared to only moments earlier.

One Pangoro barely managed to lean away from a glowing fist. The other blocked with both arms but was still forced backward several feet.

The speed advantage was obvious. However, the Pangoro were extremely well trained.

They adjusted quickly.

Neither panicked, and both maintained their defensive formation around Goodra.

Silas could tell the Poliwrath now held the advantage, but that wouldn't translate into an immediate victory.

These weren't ordinary Pokémon they could overwhelm simply by becoming faster, it would take time.

Silas suddenly sensed movement elsewhere.

One of the cloaked men suddenly moved toward Emboar.

Silas' eyes sharpened.

The man was fast.

Far faster than an ordinary human had any right to be.

It was only now that Silas realized the man was an aura master.

Judging from his movement speed alone, Silas estimated that his physical ability was somewhere around that of an advanced tier Pokémon.

That immediately made him another threat Silas needed to account for. The man reached Emboar and pulled something from inside his clothing.

It was one of those pearls.

Silas recognized the general nature of the item immediately.

"Shit."

Emboar opened its mouth and the pearl disappeared between its eager jaws.

Energy erupted.

A strange light resembling Mega Evolution completely engulfed Emboar.

A glowing cocoon formed around its body, and above it appeared the enormous flashing image of a DNA strand.

Silas watched carefully.

The transformation only lasted a few seconds.

When the light finally dissipated, Emboar remained recognizable but several details had changed.

Flaming armor now covered portions of its chest and shoulders.

More importantly, condensed fire gathered inside one of its hands before stretching outward into the shape of a long lance.

Mega Emboar tightened its grip around the weapon. The pressure rolling from its body immediately changed the atmosphere of the battlefield.

Silas' expression darkened.

The transformation had altered the balance.

Mega Emboar raised its arm and its fiery lance burned brighter before it threw it.

"Politoed!"

Silas sensed the danger.

Politoed tried to move but there was no time to dodge. The lance crossed the battlefield almost instantly and struck directly beside him.

BOOM!

A masisive explosion of flames swallowed the area. The fire erupted outward in a violent storm.

Even with rain pouring from the sky, the flames burned intensely enough to survive for several seconds. Thick smoke rolled across the battlefield.

Silas searched through it with his psychic senses.

His expression immediately changed.

As the smoke cleared, he saw Politoed.

The Water type was lying face down against the ground.

His body was charred.

Despite his natural resistance to Fire type attacks and respectable durability, that single attack had nearly taken him out completely.

Silas' eyes moved upward.

Goodra stood over Politoed.

A massive sphere of concentrated Fighting type energy was already gathering.

It was trying to use Focus Blast to end his Pokémon permanently before Silas could return him to safety within a pokeball.

However, Goodra had underestimated something.

Politoed was a king and every good king had their fiercely loyal royal guard.

When the Poliwrath saw their king on the ground, their demeanor changed instantly.

One of them erupted with incredible power born and threw itself at both Pangoro at once.

It used a combination of Dynamic Punch, Close Combat, and Liquidation. He forced them backward on his own.

The Poliwrath attacked almost recklessly, not because it believed it could defeat both Pokémon immediately, but because it only needed to prevent them from interfering.

The second Poliwrath broke away.

Silas immediately understood.

He poured as much psychic power as he could safely spare into the Water type, reinforcing its movements and helping guide its path.

Poliwrath accelerated.

Goodra finished forming Focus Blast.

Before it could fire at Politoed, Poliwrath appeared beside it.

It's glowing fist crashed into Goodra and sent the pseudo legendary staggering away.

Goodra's concentration never completely broke and Focus Blast fired while Goodra was falling backward.

Poliwrath reacted coldly and casually raised an emerald translucent barrier using Protect.

Focus Blast exploded against it and the barrier shook violently but held.

Smoke engulfed the area around Poliwrath.

Goodra stared toward the cloud.

Poliwrath rushed out and continued its assault.

The Water type had never stopped moving. It crashed into Goodra and then used Close Combat.

Its fists hammered Goodra from several different angles. One slammed into its stomach. Another crashed against its chest.

Goodra attempted to retaliate, but ice suddenly spread across Poliwrath's fists.

The next blow landed with even greater force and then another. The combination was brutal.

Even still, Goodra still managed to strike using Dragon Pulse at close range.

When the exchange finally ended, Goodra was barely upright.

Its body swayed in the wind and its breathing had become heavy.

Poliwrath moved forward to finish it but unfortunately, the opportunity disappeared.

The 2 Pangoro had finally broken free from the other Poliwrath. They rushed forward in defense of their teammate.

Poliwrath immediately pulled back. Silas agreed with the decision. Politoed had already survived more than enough.

Politoed vanished safely into his Poké Ball.

Silas looked around.

The situation wasn't good, not at all.

Andra was having issues of her own. Scolipede remained in relatively good condition, but the powerful Pyroar had successfully kept it occupied.

The giant Bug type possessed overwhelming physical strength and speed after its earlier boosts, yet Pyroar refused to give it a clean opening.

Blaziken was still fighting Sawk. It had established a clear advantage over the flame chicken.

Blaziken continued fighting fiercely, but Silas could tell that if nothing changed, its defeat was only a matter of time.

Then there was Mega Emboar.

Silas stared at the flaming lance beginning to reform in its hand.

The transformation had completely changed the battle.

Before Mega Emboar appeared, Silas still believed they could win.

Now?

Their chances were rapidly disappearing.

The firepower behind its first attack told Silas everything he needed to know.

Politoed was a naturally durable Water type.

Rain was active.

Fire attacks should have been one of the least threatening options against him.

Mega Emboar had still taken Politoed out of the battle with a single strike. Had that lance landed cleanly on one of their less durable Pokémon, the result could easily be fatal.

Even with Volcarona and Bouffalant having joined their side, Silas didn't like the numbers.

More importantly, he wasn't interested in sacrificing several of his Pokémon just to satisfy his pride.

Silas reached out mentally.

Andra immediately heard his voice.

"We're leaving."

There was only a brief pause.

"Agreed."

That was another thing Silas appreciated about fighting alongside her.

She kept her ego in check and understood the battlefield well enough to recognize when the situation had turned against them.

They didn't need to discuss it any further.

Silas began coordinating every Pokémon through the psychic link.

Their objective was to create chaos.

"Everyone, unleash your various ranged attacks!"

The battlefield erupted.

Swellow unleashed Hurricane. Wind violently twisted across the area before forming into a vortex.

Electivire raised his arms and called down Thunder from the sky. Electricity illuminated the darkened sky.

Sludge Wave surged outward. Hyper Beam followed. Fire Blast tore through the rain. Infernape even used Flame Aura Burst.

Different energies collided as the entire battlefield became engulfed by violent attacks from multiple directions.

The Court members reacted immediately.

"Hahahaha! Getting desperate, are we?"

Silas didn't respond.

That was exactly what he wanted them to think.

The enemy Pokémon launched their own ranged attacks.

Explosion after explosion shook the battlefield.

Silas acted.

One Poké Ball after another appeared in his hands as he returned everyone safely into their balls.

Andra did the same.

Within only a few seconds, nearly every Pokémon on their side had vanished from the battlefield.

Only Electivire remained active. He moved directly beside Silas and Andra. They both placed one hand against him.

Psychic power began gathering and Electivire even contributed his own. The 2 powers combined to initiate an emergency teleport.

The surrounding space began to distort.

Through the smoke, one of the enemy trainers finally noticed something was wrong.

His eyes widened.

"Don't let them get away!"

The other man turned.

"They're trying to use Teleport! Disrupt the psychic energy flow quickly!"

Several Pokémon immediately prepared attacks but it was too late.

Light flashed and Silas' group disappeared before their eyes. The attacks passed through the space they had occupied only a fraction of a second earlier.

For several seconds, the Court members simply stared then one of them exploded in rage.

"Fucking hell! How could they get away?!"

The other man was usually far more composed.

Even he looked furious.

"That kid's a crafty one."

He looked across the battlefield.

His expression worsened.

"He even got away with the Poké Balls for those 2 fucking traitorous Pokémon."

Neither Volcarona nor Bouffalant remained behind. Silas had taken both with him.

Approximately 1 kilometer away, space suddenly distorted.

Silas, Andra, and Electivire appeared between several trees.

The moment their feet touched the ground, both humans staggered. Silas placed a hand on a nearby tree Andra bent forward slightly. Electivire breathed heavily beside them.

All 3 were panting incessantly.

Teleporting such a large group through an emergency combination of psychic power had been exhausting.

Silas took several breaths and looked around.

"Damnit."

Andra looked over in alarm.

"What?"

"We couldn't get all the belongings off that first guy."

Andra stared at Silas for several seconds before she started laughing.

"Odin, we escaped with our lives, all of our Pokémon are alive, and you gained 2 strong partners."

She shook her head.

"I think we did okay."

Andra paused.

"Granted, the ending was a little too close for comfort."

Silas laughed as well.

"Such is the life of a Team Rocket elite."

Both finally relaxed slightly.
