ELARA~
Nothing felt right anymore. I'd been used, monitored, lied to, set up.
I didn't want to pursue any truth again. Not anymore. Not when I was mentally doing damage to my own brain.
I would walk away from this case, but then what? After the Freecs concert, I was going to step away from the spotlight entirely.
For my sanity.
I was tucked up in my room waiting for a call—a knock. From Andrea, because despite everything I was feeling, I needed to know if she was fine. That was non-negotiable. She had helped me so much, despite her underhanded methods.
From Marcus, I needed to tell him I wasn't helping him, after all I knew nothing true about Isla anyway. Learning about Angela's death was already too much for me. Kenji and his connections weren't mine to deal with, and I wasn't going to give myself another headache.
And lastly, from the lawyers. Give them the evidence and wait for the court case to be over.
