Rimuru's Hypnosis Hammer.
Bang!
With a casual wave of her hand, Rimuru released a cool and refreshing surge of primordial magic that struck the back of Nick Fury's head like a club.
The "braised egg" staggered for a moment before instantly falling asleep.
Looking at the thoroughly "cooked" Fury, Rimuru felt extremely satisfied.
From this day onward, she too possessed a signature spell worthy of being passed down through future generations.
To be honest, she had learned this habit from Western mages themselves—when in Rome, do as the Romans do.
Perhaps because of their strong sense of ownership and pride, Western sorcerers loved attaching their own names to every spell they invented.
The Shape of Ikonn was created by the mage Ikonn.
The Crimson Bands belonged to Cyttorak.
The Sword of the Vishanti, the Bolts of Balthakk, the Seven Suns of Cinnibus… all followed the same convention.
In the future, Rimuru might very well develop spells such as:
"Rimuru's Heaven-Collapsing Seal."
"Rimuru's Void-Shattering Punch."
One day, Rimuru was destined to claim a place of her own in the world of magic.
After enduring an intense series of shocks, Nick Fury slowly regained consciousness.
What greeted him was an unfamiliar ceiling.
Fury rubbed the aching back of his head. His mind was still dizzy as the memories before he passed out gradually resurfaced.
His pupils suddenly contracted.
He remembered being knocked unconscious by some bastard who hit him from behind like a tree stump.
The first person he suspected was Rimuru.
After all, this was Rimuru's villa.
And Rimuru herself was unbelievably mysterious, with endless hidden cards up her sleeve. No one knew how many bizarre abilities she still possessed.
Unfortunately, Fury had absolutely no evidence.
He subconsciously tried to stand, only for a sharp pain in his thigh to make him suck in a cold breath and stumble.
After carefully inspecting his clothes and confirming nothing seemed wrong, Fury finally let out a sigh of relief.
Taking out his phone, he immediately saw a familiar number.
Coulson.
The moment he saw the name, Fury was strangely moved.
At last, he had reconnected with another agent.
For a brief moment, he had genuinely believed he might actually be dead.
"Director, are you alright?" Coulson asked.
Fury paused for a moment before cautiously replying,
"Why would you ask that?"
Coulson answered honestly.
"Sir, you usually answer calls within ten seconds. It's already been almost thirty."
Fury felt slightly disappointed for some reason, though his tone remained casual.
"I was delayed for a moment. Report."
"Director, the logistics department has detected Fengshen's location. It's currently heading toward Long Island. Please prepare yourself."
A sharp glint flashed across Fury's eye.
"Where was Fengshen originally detected?"
"The west coast of California."
Fury inhaled deeply.
"I understand. Continue remaining hidden."
From California's west coast all the way to New York…
Crossing nearly the entire United States…
The fact that Rimuru seemingly had no opportunity to act only made the situation even stranger.
Fury would never forget the "optical invisibility" and "spatial jump" technology Fengshen had demonstrated earlier.
The only reason SHIELD's logistics department had managed to detect Fengshen was because Fengshen had willingly allowed itself to be detected.
Fury now had a powerful intuition:
Everything that had happened to him earlier was Rimuru's doing.
It was the instinct of a veteran agent.
Unfortunately, instinct was not evidence.
Still, the experience had left an incredibly deep impression on him.
The room had come alive.
Gears had rotated endlessly.
Space itself had folded and flipped at will.
At one point, Fury had even felt genuine despair.
Unless someone experienced it personally, they could never understand the terror of being completely isolated while the entire world still existed around them.
On Earth, if someone ranked second in terms of secret knowledge, Nick Fury would confidently claim first place.
And yet, what he experienced today had completely exceeded his imagination.
Those powers felt less like technology or magic…
…and more like something only gods should possess.
For the first time in a long while, Fury realized just how little he truly understood about the world.
The universe was far more mysterious than he had imagined.
Looking back now, his previous belief that everything was under control felt utterly ridiculous.
Fury even began suspecting that all of this had simply been Rimuru's way of giving him a "small punishment and a big warning" for breaking into her villa without permission.
Perhaps Fengshen's deliberate appearance in California had merely been intended to avoid truly harming him.
The more Fury thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.
At this point, he could only grit his teeth in frustration.
If this was really the truth, then he genuinely had nowhere to complain.
After all…
Wasn't it technically just unauthorized trespassing?
Did she really need to go this far?
No matter what, this entire incident had to be treated as though it never happened.
Fury stood silently in a dark corner, perfectly blending into the shadows.
If Rimuru could read minds, she would probably find Fury's logic absolutely hilarious.
Because yes—
That had been her exact intention from the very beginning.
She wanted to teach Fury—and SHIELD as a whole—a very memorable lesson.
She had already revealed too many things:
Fengshen.
Portals.
Healing potions capable of restoring even Hulk-level injuries.
She needed to vaccinate these people in advance against the idea of trying to control or exploit her.
There was no point punishing someone without teaching them why.
Rimuru had no interest in playing childish games like pretending to be weak.
The fun of "pretending to be a pig to eat the tiger" came from the tiger actually being powerful.
But SHIELD?
To her, they were little more than flies she could crush at any time.
Why would she bother acting weak in front of insects?
Clang!
Fengshen descended onto the villa.
Displaying remarkable acting skills, Rimuru pretended as though she knew absolutely nothing.
Then the "braised egg" made his entrance in his usual mysterious and stylish manner.
"You defeated the Hulk, disappeared before countless satellites, and now the silver-armored war god Rimuru hides in the shadows. You really are low-key. What, do you think you're the strongest superhero in the world?"
His tone and wording were almost identical to how he had mocked Iron Man earlier.
Even after suffering all that psychological trauma, Fury still loved showing off as much as ever.
It was simply part of his nature.
Rimuru had no intention of exposing him, though.
Being a "braised egg" was already hard enough. Why make it harder?
"Who are you? And why are you in my house?"
Rimuru asked cautiously while examining him.
After a brief hesitation, Fury replied,
"Director of SHIELD. Nick Fury."
Nick Fury nodded and joked,
"I've seen that in movies before."
"Of course."
"I still enjoy movies. Especially ones related to my own experiences. Perhaps we can discuss them together sometime."
"Sure."
The two casually chatted for a while longer.
Naturally, Fury also slipped in a few subtle hints during the conversation.
Rimuru responded lazily, her attitude practically saying:
"Yes, I did all of that earlier. What exactly are you going to do about it?"
Seeing her not even bother hiding it made Fury grind his teeth in frustration.
I'll endure it.
Honestly, the psychological effects of Rimuru's little "lesson" had worked even better than she expected.
It was unbelievably effective.
Watching Fury swallow his anger so hard that it felt like he was swallowing broken teeth along with it nearly made even Rimuru feel uncomfortable.
Just look at him now.
That pitiful expression…
If not for Fury's dark, shiny skin, Rimuru might have thought he was one of the "descendants of the sun," sacrificing himself to maintain peace for a thousand years.
