*[Root Severing Technique] activated.* Ren Isana glanced at the connecting Flügel and joined them without the slightest hesitation, immediately passing down the method he had just acquired.
"Borrowing your power for a bit—leave the rest to me!" Although Ren could pull it off himself, having the Flügel here meant he could accomplish so much more.
Now linked to the Flügel, Ren utilized their innate ability to connect with one another to broadcast the method he had obtained from Pandora. In an instant, golden threads wrapped around the Root, tethering it to Ren's home world.
In the blink of an eye, the Root began to be frantically siphoned away like a draining pool of water. It visibly shrank, a sight that instantly enraged Gaia and Alaya, causing their resistance to grow increasingly violent.
Feeling the Root being rapidly extracted, Ren grew excited. He hurriedly shouted to the Flügel, "Quick, go all out! Don't worry about the energy drain! Pump as much as you can!"
Right now, Ren Isana didn't care if the Flügel ended up turning into lolis. He just wanted to use every ounce of strength to drain the Root dry. How could he miss a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity like this? *Drain the hell out of it!*
Alaya and Gaia were completely tied up. No matter how furious they were, they had no time to deal with Ren's situation. They could only watch the scene unfold in impotent rage.
Brother Zheng was briefly stunned by Ren's operation, but he didn't overthink it. He quickly packed up his portion of the Root and steered his Epang Palace straight into the world Ren was connected to.
Some Heroic Spirits took the opportunity to hitch a ride, while those who couldn't make it in time had no choice but to head for Avant Heim. Retrieving their Spirit Origins meant that all the Heroic Spirits were finally free.
Why wait around at a time like this? Even those who didn't want to run had no choice; their Spirit Origins had already been taken away by the First Emperor. If they didn't run now, they would just be summoned by the First Emperor's side the next time they died anyway.
So, the best option was to just follow along. Everyone understood that the tide had turned. Even the Root was being siphoned off—what else could they possibly do?
Ren naturally ignored the boarding Heroic Spirits. Morgan and Da Vinci had also arrived, consciously taking up guard positions beside Ren and the others.
Even if there were Heroic Spirits harboring malicious intentions, they didn't dare make a move right now. The vast majority of the Heroic Spirits were standing on Ren's side, including the Lostbelt Kings. Heroic Spirits like Scáthach, who were seeing Ren for the first time, were simply incredibly curious about him.
Ren paid them no mind. Since they had boarded Avant Heim, they were enveloped by Pandora's laws. If anyone dared to start a fight, Pandora would probably smite them dead before Morgan or the others even had to lift a finger!
Right now, Ren was wholeheartedly focused on extracting the Root's power. The Root was shrinking at a visible rate, and so were Jibril and the other Flügel.
Draining the power of an entire world consumed a terrifying amount of energy. In less than a minute, the Flügel regressed from mature women to young girls, and about a minute after that, they all turned into lolis and disconnected.
The Flügel had completely lost their power for the moment, but there wasn't a hint of dismay on any of their faces. Instead, they wore expressions of fanatical joy. Aside from themselves, no one knew just how much benefit they had reaped in that short span of time.
Although they were only acting as conduits to help the world extract the Root, the energy still passed through their hands. Combined with the knowledge they had acquired earlier, the sheer scale of the benefits the Flügel obtained was terrifying.
The Flügel had stopped, but Ren certainly hadn't. His Magic Power was infinite, naturally allowing him to sustain the process for much longer. This resulted in Ren being the only one left draining the Root, albeit at a reduced speed.
It lacked the visible, rapid pace from the beginning, but it was still incredibly fast. The Root was forcibly reduced by a third, and the collapse of the world accelerated in tandem.
The walls of Uruk had long since faded into nothingness. This timeline was going to be completely erased from the Root. The massive loss to the Root caused Alaya and Gaia to go [Berserk].
An unprecedented wave of malice enveloped Ren's side. Their total outburst made it impossible for Pandora to suppress them any longer, but this was already enough. In fact, Pandora was absolutely thrilled.
She truly hadn't expected Ren to be this effective, directly plundering so much of the world's origin. A third of it in just one round! In her mind, siphoning off a tenth would have been a massive success.
Who would have thought Ren would actually drag a whole third of it back? It was a monumental surprise. She stopped suppressing Alaya and Gaia, instead manipulating her world's laws to wrap around Avant Heim and yank it straight back.
*Hilarious. The goods are already in hand; what time do I have to play around with you?* Besides, this world was about to be destroyed anyway. Better to go home, lock the doors tight, and come back for another wave after digesting the spoils.
Next time, she wouldn't even need anyone else to come along. She could beat Gaia and Alaya like spinning tops all by herself. The only reason she hadn't gone for the kill this time was to prevent them from interfering with Ren on his end.
But next time? *Hehe, next time will be a different story. Just you wait, I'll definitely be back.* Thinking these delightful thoughts, Pandora grabbed Ren and the others and evacuated the area.
Ren's channel for extracting the Root's power was abruptly snapped, and he was forcibly pulled back into his own world. Following their departure, the entire Type-Moon world instantly annihilated. The moment Pandora pulled Ren back, she locked the spatial channel dead.
She could come and go as she pleased now, but Alaya and Gaia were a different story. They couldn't easily reach Ren's world.
Being forcefully yanked back, Ren felt a deep sense of regret. It was a pity he couldn't haul the entire Root back with him. It couldn't be considered a perfectly planned trip, but it was still a pretty good haul.
Just as Ren was thinking this, Pandora descended. A surge of power directly swept up the Heroic Spirits. With the exception of Morgan and Da Vinci, all the Heroic Spirits who had crossed over vanished in an instant.
*I'm going to go process these guys. Do as you please. If you want to bring any of them back, just tell me. If you don't want them back, find a place for them to stay, and don't cause trouble!* Pandora's voice echoed in Ren's mind.
The moment her words fell, the numerous Flügel—who had completely exhausted their power—slowly began to recover. The Flügel had made a massive contribution this time; how could she just sit back and ignore them?
Now that they were back in her territory, she could reward them however she pleased. It was safe to say that after this event, the Flügel were officially registered in this world and had gained its recognition.
"Whoa, we actually got stronger. Ren Isana, you aren't going to send us back, are you?" Jibril had heard Pandora's words just now, and her eyes were fixed intently on Ren.
If Ren actually did that, they were going to riot. They had finally managed to make the trip over, only to be sent right back? Wouldn't that mean they came for nothing? Regardless, they absolutely refused to go back this time.
"Alright, alright, you heard what she said. No causing trouble in this world. Avant Heim, let's go. Take off for Nexus Island!" Ren glanced at Jibril and didn't say anything more.
Since they wanted to stay, let them stay. They had earned their keep this time, so Ren naturally wouldn't do something as callous as tossing them right back.
Receiving Ren's command, Avant Heim immediately began flying in the direction of Nexus Island. The movement speed of this sky city was remarkably fast, outpacing many airplanes.
Yet, the people standing atop the city didn't feel the slightest trace of movement. Instead, it was incredibly stable, no different from standing on solid ground. For such a colossal structure to achieve this, one could only praise it as a true Phantasmal Species.
Avant Heim moved close to the Earth's atmosphere. Many satellites captured the footage, but since most authorities already knew what this thing was, it didn't cause too much of a panic.
"Did you get your Spirit Origins back?" Ren had no idea what the people on Earth were thinking. He looked at Morgan and Da Vinci and asked the most pressing question. When the Throne of Heroes was shattered, had the two of them retrieved their belongings?
Hearing this, Da Vinci smiled and nodded. "I've retrieved it. I am now in my complete form. However, that entity will likely place restrictions on the other Heroic Spirits. I can already feel that the Throne of Heroes seems to have been rebuilt."
Speaking of this, she looked up into the void. Just moments ago, she had sensed the newly manifested Throne of Heroes. Any Heroic Spirit could go there. Even though their Spirit Origins weren't bound to it, they were still restricted by its laws.
Barring any surprises, Heroic Spirits would be able to move freely from now on, but they would be strictly bound by the laws of this world.
Still, this alone would be enough to satisfy many of the Heroic Spirits.
After all, in their previous world, Alaya and Gaia never allowed Heroic Spirits to move freely. They could only slumber in the Throne of Heroes, which was practically like being in prison. Compared to that, this world was incredibly free.
Since Ren wasn't a Heroic Spirit, he couldn't feel it as clearly. But hearing Da Vinci's explanation, he understood that Pandora probably had quite a few arrangements in mind for these Heroic Spirits.
There was a lot of talent among these Heroic Spirits, and they represented a very solid fighting force. Working for one boss was the same as working for another, right? Plus, they would have more freedom here. Ren was confident that the Heroic Spirits would make the right choice.
Who knows, maybe in the future Ren would even see some Heroic Spirits running down to the school to work as teachers. After all, their world was severely lacking in manpower, and Pandora absolutely wouldn't let such a valuable group go to waste.
Having grasped the general situation, Ren didn't dwell on it any further. Morgan and Da Vinci had already signed some sort of contract with Pandora long ago. Ren didn't ask for the specifics. Instead, he looked up at the Flügel, who were currently chatting among themselves with expressions of pure excitement.
These guys needed to be properly managed as well. Keep them on Avant Heim forever? They definitely wouldn't be happy about that. But if left unrestricted, these Flügel were little agents of chaos who could easily cause massive headaches.
So, Ren had to think very carefully about how to arrange them. After all, these people were his subordinates now. If something went wrong later, people would definitely come knocking on his door!
