Lightning tore across the heavens.
The battlefield fell silent as the enormous shadow descended from the storm clouds. Darkness spread through the sky like an endless tide, swallowing the stars one by one.
The Shadow King had arrived.
His form was cloaked in black mist, his face hidden beneath a crown of shattered crystal. Wherever he stepped, the earth cracked and withered.
Fear spread through both armies.
Even the shadow creatures bowed before him.
Aren tightened his grip on his sword.
"So you're the one behind all of this."
The Shadow King's deep laughter echoed across the valley.
"For centuries, I waited for the Broken Stars to awaken. And now, thanks to you, the path to ultimate power is open."
The Celestial Heart pulsed beneath the ruins.
The Shadow King's gaze turned toward it.
"Give me the Heart, Starborn."
"No."
The darkness around the king surged violently.
"Then I shall take it."
With a single gesture, a wave of shadow energy exploded across the battlefield.
Warriors were thrown through the air.
Ancient walls shattered.
Even Aren struggled to remain standing.
The power was overwhelming.
Nearby, Darius fell to one knee. For the first time, the darkness controlling him weakened.
"Aren..." he whispered.
Aren rushed to him.
The prince looked up, fighting against the shadows consuming his body.
"You must stop him."
"We'll stop him together."
Darius shook his head.
"No. Listen to me."
From beneath his armor, he pulled out a small silver crystal.
"The final Star Shard."
Aren stared in shock.
The last missing piece.
The shard that could unite all the Broken Stars.
"I kept it hidden," Darius said. "I knew one day the Shadow King would come for it."
The darkness began to consume him again.
"You have to finish what we started."
Aren took the shard.
The moment it touched the others, brilliant light erupted around him.
The seven Broken Stars finally became one.
A beam of silver light shot into the sky.
The clouds parted.
For the first time in generations, the ancient stars of Elyndor shone brightly above the kingdom.
The Shadow King's expression changed.
For the first time...
He looked afraid.
