Hajin raised the reforged chain as crimson light raced along the sanctuary's central fault line beneath Dreth's altar.
Commander Dreth stood atop the altar, his fingers buried deep into the glowing core of the domain socket.
Behind him, the remaining seven hundred and four retainers watched in paralyzed terror as necrotic veins crept up their armor.
"You took my battery, but you cannot escape the burial vault I carved for you!" the commander shrieked in absolute madness.
"If I detonate the core socket, sixty square miles of this mountain will collapse into a bottomless pit!"
"Dreth, you are threatening to blow up your own men just to avoid facing your crimes," Hajin replied, halting his advance.
"Do you really believe your soldiers want to die in a hole to protect your stolen wealth?"
"Their lives belong to me, peasant!" the mad noble screamed, channeling every drop of his remaining life force into the floor.
"Subterranean rupture protocol, ignite and consume the valley!"
