Hajin stopped outside the fortress stockade's underground cell while Taren checked the assassin's bindings through the bars.
Behind the reinforced iron bars of the Aegis containment cell, the veiled assassin leader sat curled against the wall.
Both of his wrists were wrapped in splints, his collarbone shattered and his aura core completely suppressed by celestial runes.
Hajin stood on the other side of the barrier alongside Taren, his split-colored pupils glowing in the dim torchlight.
"You have five minutes to give me the contact in my administrative staff," he said, his voice flat and devoid of warmth.
"If you cooperate, you will be sent to the northern quarries as an ordinary labor prisoner under full guard."
"And if I refuse to speak?" the broken assassin croaked, spitting dark phlegm onto the flagstones.
"Then I will leave you in this cage without water until your kidneys fail," Taren answered coldly, resting his hand on his pommel.
