Chapter 205: Lan is a White-Hair Connoisseur, Fuli is a Pink-Hair Connoisseur, Got It?
At the entrance to Scalegorge Waterscape, the lingering mist rolled over the ancient dragon ruins. The heavy atmosphere of the High-Cloud Quintet's reunion and the solemn aftermath of the fierce battle had completely evaporated. Leon's ridiculous antics had shattered the tension, replacing it with muffled snickers and exasperated sighs from the gathered group.
Fu Xuan took a hasty half-step backward, her pristine boots scraping against the stone path. A visible twitch seized the corner of her mouth. "I... I hardly think that will be necessary," she stammered, raising both hands in a rapid, defensive wave.
In the quiet hours of the night, the Master Diviner had poured over the Divination Commission's most restricted archives, seeking any scrap of lore regarding Akivili. The ancient jade scrolls painted a picture of a Trailblaze Aeon who frequently fraternized with the chaotic Aha, acting with an unpredictable, deeply human eccentricity. Watching Leon now—a man who treated the universe like his personal playground—Fu Xuan felt a chill of realization. His relentless pursuit of amusement mirrored the Elation perfectly. It only cemented her private theory: this maddeningly thick-skinned man was intrinsically tied to the return of the departed Trailblaze.
"You're absolutely sure? No dye job?" Leon sighed, letting his shoulders slump in a theatrical display of deep disappointment. He already had a sleek bottle of premium white hair dye resting in his palm, his thumb hovering over the cap, just waiting for the Master Diviner to cave.
Beside him, Stelle and Caelus mirrored his exaggerated slump. The two Trailblazers stared at Fu Xuan's signature pink twin-tails, their golden eyes practically sparkling with unfulfilled mischief. They had been genuinely looking forward to seeing the famously strict, dignified Master Diviner sporting a head of shocking white hair. The sheer contrast to her usual commanding aura would have been legendary.
"Oh, come on! Stop egging him on, you two!" March 7th groaned, grabbing Stelle and Caelus by their collars and dragging them backward. She planted her hands on her hips and blew a stray pink bang out of her face. "Master Diviner Fu is drowning in official duties! She has a very serious, dignified image to uphold for the Luofu. She can't just go around changing her hair color for a prank!"
"Well, if you refuse to dye it, there is another Path you could walk," Leon pivoted smoothly. A dangerous, playful glint ignited in his eyes. "Lan, the Reignbow Arbiter, clearly has a bias for white hair. Just look at His Emanators. But Fuli? The Remembrance is a completely different story. He isn't a white-hair connoisseur—He is a dedicated pink-hair connoisseur. I mean, aren't all the Nirvana Puritys under His command sporting pink hair?"
Leon took a step closer, gesturing grandly to Fu Xuan's head. "Master Diviner, your beautiful hair is already the perfect shade. The quality is exceptional! Why not consider a career change? Switch your allegiance to the Path of Remembrance! With that hair, you'd catch Fuli's eye instantly. You might even get a promotion to Emanator on your first day!"
[Fuli: This could work.]
[Lan:...This really won't do.]
Even the usually stoic Reignbow Arbiter couldn't hold back His exasperation. How could Leon blatantly help Fuli poach His top personnel right in front of Him? This was entirely out of line.
Off to the side, Caelus whipped out a small notepad and a pen, his face deadpan as he silently jotted down: Memory Aeon Fuli is a pink-hair connoisseur.
[Aha: Ahahahaha! @Fuli, Leon says you're a pink-hair connoisseur!]
[Fuli: So what if I am a pink-hair connoisseur? I openly favor pink. I am straightforward and honest about my aesthetic preferences.]
[Aha: @Lan, look how honest Fuli is! Stop being so coy! If you're a white-hair connoisseur, just admit it openly to the class!]
[Lan: I am not. What exactly am I supposed to admit?]
[Aha: Lan, you're just living in denial. If you love white hair, embrace it.]
[Lan: I said, I am NOT a white-hair connoisseur.]
[Aha: Not? Then why are you so relentlessly insistent on having Yaoshi dye back to white hair?]
[Lan: That is entirely your baseless nonsense.]
"Fuli... is truly a pink-hair connoisseur?" Fu Xuan muttered, her right eye developing a violent, unnatural twitch.
She mentally reviewed the recent catastrophic events. Among the five Aeons who had descended upon the Luofu, Fuli of Remembrance had been present. Leon was spouting this absolute nonsense out loud, yet the Aeon of Remembrance hadn't struck him down with a localized amnesia wave. Could it be... was it actually true? A horrifying thought crept into the Master Diviner's brilliant mind. Had her previous minor offenses against the divine gone unpunished simply because she possessed... ahem, pink hair?
"Bro, is this actually true?" Stelle blinked, leaning in with intense curiosity. She pointed a thumb at her energetic companion. "March 7th has pink hair! Could she possibly... become one of those Nirvana Purity things too?"
"Yeah, yeah! What exactly is a Nirvana Purity anyway?" March 7th shoved her way to the front, her vibrant pink eyes wide with innocent curiosity.
"Nirvana Purity..." Leon cleared his throat, adopting the grave, scholarly tone of an Intelligentsia Guild academic. "It is a collective term for the fragmented forms split directly from the Memory Aeon, Fuli."
He paced slowly, enjoying his captive audience. "Regarding their true identity and origin, the galactic records are riddled with contradictions. The only solid consensus is this: the Nirvana Puritys established the very organization that hoards and guards the mysteries of the universe—the Garden of Recollection. They differ wildly in race, birthplace, and previous life Paths, but they all exclusively walk the Path of Remembrance."
Leon held up a finger. "As for their true nature, hypotheses run wild. Some say they are literal shards of Fuli's crystalline body. Others claim they are mortal incarnations, or even personified aspects of memory itself. However, all of these theories lack concrete evidence. Currently, the only confirmed fact across the cosmos is the direct link between the Nirvana Puritys and the founding of the Garden."
"Sigh... then I definitely don't stand a chance." March 7th waved her hand dismissively, her shoulders slumping. "I heard the Memokeepers of the Garden of Recollection only exist as memetic entities—like, literal memes made of thought. I'm a flesh-and-blood living person! I don't fit that description at all."
She patted her own cheek to prove her solidity. There were trillions of people with pink hair in the universe; it had to be a pure coincidence. How could she, the lovable and ordinary March 7th, possibly be some ancient, mysterious cosmic existence?
Leon silently activated his internal recording function, perfectly capturing March 7th's dismissive statement and naive expression.
[Leon: Light Cone Record created: 'March 7th: How could I possibly be a Nirvana Purity!']
[Fuli:... (Image attached: March 7th angry.jpg) (Image attached: Cyrene angry.jpg)]
[Aha: Ahahahaha! This is just way too entertaining!]
Leon chuckled inwardly, though he kept his facial features locked in a mask of polite neutrality. Prophet March 7th's first major miscalculation! Truly a moment worth commemorating. Congratulations.
"By the way..." March 7th shifted her weight, scratching the back of her head with a sheepish grin. "Actually, I've been wondering if I could ask Master Diviner Fu for a huge favor."
She had originally planned to visit the Divination Commission alone at a later date, but since everyone was gathered here, she figured she might as well strike while the iron was hot.
"The Matrix of Prescience is incredibly powerful, right? It even managed to deduce Kafka's hidden past..." She looked up at Fu Xuan, her bright eyes practically brimming with hopeful anticipation. "I was thinking... if you used the Matrix of Prescience on me, could it... calculate my lost past?"
"That matter can certainly be arranged," Fu Xuan agreed without a moment's hesitation. Her tone was noticeably lighter, almost relieved. Answering a straightforward request from the energetic Trailblazer was infinitely simpler than handling the chaotic, erratic minefield of Leon's train of thought. "Once the immediate aftermath of this crisis settles down, I will send an official notification for you to visit the Divination Commission."
"By the way, there is also this lady..." Fu Xuan's sharp gaze drifted toward the Foxian woman standing quietly at Jing Yuan's side. The woman possessed a gentle, graceful smile, her fluffy ears twitching slightly in the ocean breeze—Bai Heng.
In truth, the Master Diviner's calculating eyes had locked onto her the second the group emerged from the Scalegorge Waterscape. This mysterious Foxian had absolutely not been present when they entered the ruins, yet here she was, strolling out with the rest of them. It had been highly inconvenient to interrogate her earlier with so many eyes watching. But now that the surrounding Cloud Knight battalions had dispersed to secure the perimeter, Fu Xuan naturally sought to clarify this anomaly's origins.
"Master Diviner," Jing Yuan interjected, clearing his throat lightly. He maintained a perfectly placid expression as he stepped forward. "This is Bai Heng. She is... an old friend of ours."
Regarding the miraculous nature of Bai Heng's return from death, the General had absolutely no intention of making a public spectacle of it. Even to someone as high-ranking as Fu Xuan, a subtle hint was more than enough. Fortunately, the name Bai Heng had been thoroughly buried beneath centuries of Luofu history. In the modern era, exceedingly few souls would recognize the name, let alone match it to her face. Because of this historical obscurity, she didn't even need to adopt an alias; she could simply reintegrate into their lives quietly, under the guise of an old friend.
"Oh! So you are the current Master Diviner of the Luofu? It's wonderful to meet you!" Bai Heng beamed, her eyes darting around with unabashed curiosity. Though centuries had slipped away, the fundamental architectural aesthetics of the Luofu remained comfortingly familiar, even if the sprawling road networks had changed drastically from her era.
Fu Xuan's calculating gaze swept over the subtle, deeply nostalgic expressions worn by the various members of the High-Cloud Quintet. Seeing that General Jing Yuan had zero intention of elaborating further, the brilliant Diviner instantly understood the unspoken boundary. She pressed no further, simply offering Bai Heng a polite, measured nod. "I see. It is a pleasure to meet you as well."
