The bar was loud in the comfortable, familiar way it always was on a Monday night, and Tae-hyun sat wedged into a corner booth between his two closest friends from the business program, a pitcher of beer sweating on the table between them.
"You're not even listening," Yuna said, flicking a napkin at him. "I just told you I got the internship and you nodded like I said something about the weather."
"Sorry, sorry." Tae-hyun straightened, forcing his attention back to the table. "That's amazing, Yuna. Seriously. Which firm?"
"The one I've been obsessing over since sophomore year. I still can't believe they actually picked me." She grinned, practically glowing with it, and beside her, Ji-ho raised his glass in an exaggerated toast.
"To Yuna, future finance overlord of us all."
"I'll remember you said that when I'm running the place."
