The flowers kept sliding across the back seat.
I stared out the window, letting the Pack blur past while Bree fussed beside me unnoticed.
She rearranged the lilies for the third time since we left the packhouse, straightened the ribbon on the teddy bear and checked that the envelope of money was still tucked between the stems.
My head was crowded with too many thoughts. I couldn't stop thinking about last night and even now, twelve hours later, I could still feel the ghost of his hands on my hips. A shiver raced down my spine and settled unpleasantly in my stomach.
I had covered the hickey marks he left with concealer that morning.
"We're here, Luna." Bree said softly.
I blinked hard and dragged my thoughts back to the present. Through the window, I saw Samantha's house and breath rolled to a stop.
