In the sky, Stone Golems and Bone Golems, and warriors of steel and iron, fell like a meteor shower.
The massive giants at the forefront were still trying to bombard the city walls, hoping to break through this obstruction, enter the city, and crush the tiny races.
But the heavily armored Imperial Guards in mid-air uniformly gripped their heavy Horse-Slaying Blades, and amidst the continuous clang of their armor, immense power was injected into the Blades of Destruction in the Imperial Guards' hands.
And so, at the same exact moment, they cast down Swords of Death from the high heavens onto the ground.
Dozens of vibrating Horse-Slaying Blades, enveloped in intense psionic light, cut through the air from above, their sharp whistling like the roar of Dragon-Slaying Ballista bolts, bringing a warning of death from above the giants' heads.
Over a dozen giants didn't even have time to react; their swinging clubs and great hammers were still embedded in the city's battlements, unable to be brought back, when they met their judgment of death.
Thud, thud, thud.
One after another, thick, long Horse-Slaying Blades arrived before their masters, and in front of these gigantic heavy blades capable of cutting through all steel in the mortal world, even the Stone Giants covered in hard stone could not stop them.
The Blades of Death dropped from high in the sky directly pierced and split through the siege giants' heads, cleaving each roaring giant in half from head to crotch.
The giants' massive bodies suddenly split open, and the unstoppable divine laws, bathed in the giants' blood, were deeply embedded into the earth.
In front of the city wall, the tumultuous battle instantly quieted down, leaving only the lingering roars of the giants' shattered corpses and the heavy thud of each Imperial Guard landing.
Thump, thump, thump.
One after another, the Imperial Guards landed with slightly bent knees in front of their still-vibrating weapons, gripping their gigantic Horse-Slaying Blades with one hand; their heavy bodies and Achilles heavy armor directly caused the ground to deeply indent.
As the Imperial Guards descended, various types of Golems also descended, landing directly into the crowded Ogre and troll populations below the city.
Although there were thousands of these Ogres and trolls, each of them was burly and exceptionally strong, actually swinging the weapons in their hands, trying to shatter the falling Golems at low altitude.
But Golems are not flesh and blood; the heavy Golems are as sturdy as steel and stone, carrying powerful potential energy that directly crushed some foolish giant sub-races into a thin layer of pulp, splattering blood.
The entry of the Golem Legion made these giant sub-races turn their heads, no longer able to focus on breaching Bay Stream City. And the oppressive aura emitted by the Imperial Guards upon landing also caused these strong races to become wary.
Instinctively, they avoided these warriors who were still calmly wiping their heavy Horse-Slaying Sabers on this battlefield, but at the giants' command, they had no choice but to begin charging the Golem Legion and Imperial Guards with their flesh and blood.
However, these giant sub-races had never been taken seriously by the Imperial Guards.
The Golem Legion had already advanced, marching into the enemy's ranks, exchanging their sturdy bodies for the enemy's flesh and blood. These ordinary Golems, without needing any additional abilities, could dominate the battlefield simply with their immense strength and sturdy bodies.
Clang!
Ancient Ogres roared, striking the Golem's structural joints with their massive clubs; the joint's outer layer of this Stone Golem was shattered by the Ogre's club, dropping a layer of broken skin.
Several more trolls surrounded this Stone Golem, launching attacks. Their immense strength knocked off the Stone Golem's rocky skin and pushed back its steps, using the hunting tactics of wild beasts to wear down the Golem, trying to slowly devour it.
But the Stone Golem's charging steps did not stop; its swaying body continued forward, its massive fist clenched like a heavy hammer, sweeping down from above, directly sending an Ogreflying into the crowd.
The Golem's arms suddenly straightened to the sides, sweeping around, forcing back the surrounding enemies. Then, the Golem's clumsy steps began to gradually accelerate, slowly charging, directly enduring attacks, knocking down the Ogres in front, and then stepping down, directly crushing the Ogre to death.
Clay Golems' resistance to impact was slightly better against heavy weapons, and they were also more agile, often only needing to endure two or three blows before they could accelerate and activate their giant race's talent, charging through the enemy ranks.
One Golem after another, in their extreme self-consumption, launched a massacre of life for a life.
The command these Golems received was to kill all these giant sub-races; as for their own damage, it was not a concern for their elemental souls.
The Storm Giants, seeing the arrival of allied reinforcements, were all invigorated. Led by the giant Garcia, they also roared and swung their weapons, joining the battle. They wanted to eliminate these giant minions and then unite to drive away the giants.
The battle erupting behind them did not affect these Imperial Guards.
Each Imperial Guard stood with their back to the city, facing the converging giants, pulling out the weapons embedded in the ground. Their blood-colored, dark gauntlets lightly wiped the heavy blade's edge, allowing the giants to surround them.
Accompanying the Imperial Guards' movements, psionic light ignited on the originally incredibly sharp blades. The magic-driven cores on the Horse-Slaying Blades were activated by the Imperial Guards.
A plume of blood-colored flames spread along the long blade, engulfing the entire blade. Under the output of the magic-driven core, the surging flames emitted a silent vibration, resonating with the humming blade.
The blade and flames merged, transforming into a high-density plasma-like sharp edge, and an extremely dangerous aura emanated from the Imperial Guards.
"You heretical seeds who disobey the Empire's teachings, do you dare to violate the King's land ruled by my Lord? Retreat now, and you can still preserve your hard-won lives!"
The Imperial Guard Squad Leader, wearing the Imperial emblem and blade mark on his Achilles heavy armor's left arm, spoke. Although his tone contained no emotional fluctuations, the formidable aura was a unique mark of warriors who feared no death.
And the Imperial Guards in heavy armor could even stand shoulder to shoulder with the Hill Giants among the giants, not falling behind in height or stature.
The dead giant corpses, cut in half by a single strike, also made these giants somewhat wary, preferring to let their giant sub-races test the waters first.
Axis, though nominally the leader of these giants, could not freely command them. He only relied on his own strength and the name of Morgues to suppress these giants.
"Why must you be enemies with the giants? You simply don't know the true power of the giants," Axis's single eye was filled with blood.
He grumbled, "You Storm Giants can stay, but the treasure passed down in their Storm Giant tribe is Morgues's target. If I don't get it, not only will I be directly killed by Morgues when I go back, but even you will be crushed to death by an angry Morgues."
"The Legendary power of the giants is not something you can contend with, and the giantssubjugated by Morgues are much stronger and far more numerous than you imagine."
"Furthermore, in that mountain range, there are far more than just giants; they will all trample your kingdom into ruins under Morgues's rule."
"Give me the Storm Giants' treasure, and I will retreat immediately," a crude cunning flickered in the Single-Eyed Giant's eye. He roared loudly, "I will even tell Morgues that you are friends of the giants!"
Whoosh!
Some Ogres and trolls bypassed the Golem Legion and Storm Giants' battle line, swinging their weapons and smashing them towards the Imperial Guards standing with their backs turned.
Crack!
The Imperial Guards at the very rear suddenly turned around in unison. From the magic-energy crystal eyes on their dragon-faced helmets, two psionic swords suddenly shot out, directly striking the Ogres' eyes.
The psionic power churned a psionic storm in the Ogres' minds, shattering the spirits of the Ogres, who were not skilled in psychic power, turning them into ignorant, idiotic simpletons.
Clang!
The weapons tightly held in the Ogres' and trolls' hands dropped onto the gravel. The bodies of these giant sub-races uncontrollably knelt before the Imperial Guards.
The Imperial Guards turned, the sharp, small steel spikes on the sides of their blood-colored gauntlets emitting a faint cold glint. With the Imperial Guards' movements, they clasped onto the Ogres' and trolls' heads.
Bang!
The Ogres' and trolls' fragile eyeballs were directly crushed by the Imperial Guards, and their ugly heads were also literally squeezed and exploded under the Imperial Guards' gauntlets, like watermelons struck by a heavy blow, bursting open.
The Imperial Guards, who completed their actions almost simultaneously, then turned around, as if what they had just crushed to death was merely a passing ant.
"Second time,"
The Imperial Guard Squad Leader's voice turned cold. He said indifferently, his voice sounding especially heavy within the dragon-faced helmet, "Retreat, or kneel and surrender."
In a public setting, with a Dragon Lord present, even the Imperial Guard, who viewed all beings who disobeyed the Empire's will or the Emperor's teachings as heretics deserving only death, had to follow Imperial regulations.
"You damned weaklings..."
Asis felt severely humiliated. His single eye was completely covered in blood, but before the enraged giant could unleash his roar,
the Imperial Guard Squad Leader standing opposite him, as if unable to wait, announced his command, as if any further delay would cause a Scholar to jump out and stop them.
"The enemy dares to resist, repeatedly defying orders, and remains unrepentant. Now, in accordance with the Emperor's will, grant these heretics the punishment of death! Leave no survivors!"
Click, click, click.
The Imperial Guards' magical heavy armor instantly activated, emitting a continuous clang. From their fierce dragon-faced helmets, bright gazes had already locked onto their enemies.
These Imperial Guards stomped on the ground, cracking it, and charged proactively towards the giants.
"Crush them, crush these arrogant bugs!"
Cyclops Giant Lord Asis roared, ordering the giants around him to attack.
One by one, the giants also became enraged. Stone Giants stepped forward, their massive stone fists accumulating a powerful momentum as they clashed together.
Mountain Giants, embracing huge, thick, long steel pillars, charged forward like battering rams. The giants' strength, combined with their heavy weapons, was like a siege engine, crushing forward.
Wood Giants, on the other hand, plunged their arms into the earth. Their arms instantly deformed and lengthened, their five fingers extending like ancient vines, coiling around massive stones, transforming them into giant stone flails and slung hammers, which they brought down on the heads of the Imperial Guards.
Hill Giants swung bone clubs, taken from powerful fierce beasts and extraordinary magical beasts they had hunted, and charged into the Imperial Guards.
Asis was at the back. He began to run, his muscles bulging and expanding. The huge Supreme Sky Titan leg bone he wielded thundered through the air, exploding with sound.
As the enormous body of the Single-Eyed Giant leaped and crashed forward, like a collapsing mountain, rolling down to crush the charging Imperial Guards into pulp.
A bloody aura surged violently on Asis's bone hammer. This strike was enough to shatter rocks and crush heavy armor. Even a giant dragon before him would have its scales and bones pulverized by the giant's single blow.
But the mountain-collapsing offensive was completely disintegrated by an even more powerful attack.
A figure radiating a powerful aura stepped and ran from the high altitude of the cloud-top tower. Its terrifying speed was like an Ancestral Red Dragon soaring through the sky.
Exploding cloud rings formed like halos behind him, and the immensely surging psionic energy behind him bloomed like two pure white angel wings, each psionic feather lifelike.
This was an angel clad in dragon-crowned golden heavy armor. The heavy hammer in his hand streaked across the sky like a meteor, its fierce momentum like a collapsing pillar of heaven, smashing down on the Single-Eyed Giant suspended in mid-air.
Asis's eyes were about to burst. His immense strength prevented him from fully retracting his movement, so he could only grip the downward-chopping bone hammer with his right hand.
His sturdy left arm swelled section by section at this moment, bulging blue veins coiling around it like leaping long snakes, striking directly at the heavy hammer with gushing blood.
Buzz.
An invisible sound wave instantly radiated outwards from the center of the collision, causing the ears of nearby giants to hum.
Immediately following was a powerful aftershock, causing the invisible air to ripple, and a heavy muffled thud erupted at this moment.
Asis let out a thunderous roar, and then his huge eighteen-meter tall body was directly hammered down dozens of meters from mid-air, smashing a large, sliding trench into the sandy ground.
The powerful One-Eyed Giant Lord Asis was actually utterly defeated in a carefully prepared ambush.
In the dust,Axis, with blood streaming from his facial features, slowly sat up from the trench, gasping for breath. At this moment, the One-Eyed Giant's entire left arm had been completely shattered, like a superfluous limb connected to his body, softly and twistedly hanging down.
Even the left side of his chest was torn open by broken bone fragments, a thick arm bone inserted above the Single-Eyed Giant's heart. He was just a hair's breadth away from having his most important heart destroyed, receiving the Death God's boon.
"Ugh,"
Axis's right hand tightly gripped the trembling bone hammer, but he still forced himself to support it. The blood covering his single eye had receded considerably, leaving only thick blood vessels, blood-filled pupils, appearing exceptionally terrifying.
Fortunately, the giant's formidable vitality, comparable to that of a giant dragon, meant that Cyclops Giant Asis had not sustained fatal injuries, only that it would affect his combat ability.
"Who are you, powerful warrior? Although you ambushed me, I, Asis, admit that you have the right to fight me one-on-one."
The Single-Eyed Giant looked up at the figure in the sky. The giant's blood filled his mouth, staining his teeth red.
Surging psionic energy transformed into pure white wings, gently flapping behind the dragon-faced golden-armored warrior in mid-air, providing the ability for the warrior to float effortlessly.
Unlike the heavy armor of other Imperial Guards, this warrior's armor not only had the Eye of the Dragon emblem on its belt, but its golden dragon-faced helmet also had three pairs of thick, long Metal Dragon horns standing backward, like the skull of a true Ancestral Red Dragon.
"Me?"
The warrior in the sky chuckled softly. Through the movement of his faceplate, Asis saw the warrior's appearance.
Long red hair, dark golden pupils, unparalleled bone structure, handsome features, and a perfect physique—the warrior's charm even made Asis momentarily stunned.
Unfortunately,Asis had never seen the other side of an Ancestral Red Dragon; otherwise,Asis might have believed this was the human form of an Ancestral Red Dragon personally descending.
The tall warrior, clad in golden dragon armor, stood a full six and a half meters tall, his imposing figure nearly identical to the humanoid form of the former Ancestral Red Dragon, with perfect demeanor that even made Asis forget the other's gender.
The exceptionally charming warrior's golden pupils revealed peace and tranquility. He chuckled softly, "I am the Lord's First Punishing Angel, and also the Father's Firstborn Son,"
"I am the Emperor's champion, and also the second-generation leader of the Imperial Guard,"
"You can also call me by my name, Gabriel Kogmora!"
Gabriel Kogmora looked down at the Single-Eyed Giant on the ground. The young warrior, the newborn angel, said gently, "Unfortunately, you have violated the Lord's will and offended my Father's royal land. Even if I cherish your strength, I must still cut you down here."
"To die beneath this Legendary Bagg's Pestle Hammer, it is not your humiliation."
The heavy hammer in Gabriel Kogmora's hand trembled slightly. The incomparable infusion of psionic energy caused this Orc ancestral weapon to unleash unprecedented power at this moment.
Accompanied by the seemingly amiable warrior's words, he hammered down from the sky, crashing towards the Single-Eyed Giant's head.
"Roar!"
All the blood-colored aura erupting from Asis's body surged forth. The giant's body inflated as if blown up, his feet cracking the earth, and the blood from his single eye permeated his body. The giant furiously swung the bone hammer in his hand, striking towards the sky.
Bang!
The Legendary weapons clashed, emitting a thunderous boom.
The force of Bagg's Pestle Hammer was like a mountain, but it was easily sent flying by Asis's Legendary leg bone, falling far away.
The Single-Eyed Giant's strength seemed to strike empty air, his massive frame momentarily staggering from the force he himself unleashed, but he was immediately steadied by the seemingly gentle warrior.
A psionic sword pierced through Asis's heart, crushing all life from the giant.
"I thought about it, a powerful giant's head is also enough to be a trophy, and shouldn't be destroyed because of this."
The gentle warrior smiled and whispered in the Single-Eyed Giant's ear.
Boom!
Asis's enormous body fell into the dust. His huge single eye, however, stared at the Legendary warhammer that had been knocked flying and embedded in the mountain. He died with his eyes wide open.
