That afternoon, Sean sat beneath a large tree inside the training room.
Floating in front of him was a massive blue magical disc composed entirely of glowing runes and rotating magical patterns.
Countless intricate symbols spun together like the gears of a machine.
This was the defensive magic array Sean had obtained previously.
Unfortunately, while he already understood how to use it, he still didn't fully understand the underlying principles behind its construction.
The magical runes looked strangely familiar.
But he couldn't read a single one of them.
"If I could fully understand this thing…"
Sean narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.
"Then creating offensive magic arrays wouldn't be impossible either."
He sighed.
"Too bad I don't have a clue where to start."
At that moment, a group of Slytherin students approached alongside Draco Malfoy.
"Boss," Draco said while handing over a package, "your shipment arrived."
Sean opened the bag and immediately pulled out hundreds of cloaks.
Black ones.
Red ones.
Patterned ones.
There were all kinds.
The younger snakes stared in confusion.
"Boss," Draco asked suspiciously, "what exactly are these for?"
Sean smiled mysteriously.
"You'll find out soon enough."
Then he turned back toward the floating blue magic array.
Under Sean's control, the originally complex structure rapidly began simplifying itself.
Layer after layer of magical patterns vanished.
Compared to the original version, the current array looked crude and incomplete.
Sean was deliberately weakening it.
After all, if he released the full version immediately, how was he supposed to keep making money afterward?
As someone from the twenty-first century, Sean understood the art of "progressive upgrades" perfectly.
The current version couldn't automatically absorb magic from the air like the original.
It required manual magical input instead.
And its defensive strength was less than one percent of the original array.
But even so—
It was already enough to make most wizards lose their minds.
Once the simplified array was complete, Sean tapped one of the black cloaks lightly with his wand.
A faint blue glow flashed across the fabric before disappearing instantly.
The younger snakes looked even more confused.
"What does it do?"
Sean casually picked up the cloak.
"This," he announced proudly, "is Gringotts' newest product."
He paused dramatically.
"The first-generation standard defensive cloak."
The students immediately stared at him.
Sean continued calmly.
"As for its function…"
The moment Draco heard that tone, his expression changed instantly.
Danger.
His instincts screamed danger.
Very quietly, he began trying to retreat backward.
"Malfoy."
Sean's voice suddenly echoed behind him.
Draco froze immediately.
Slowly, painfully, he turned back around.
"Yes… boss?"
"Come here."
Draco wanted to cry.
But under everyone's gaze, he could only walk back obediently.
Sean handed him the cloak.
"Put it on."
Draco obeyed stiffly.
"Now inject magical power into it and stand still."
The younger snakes instantly became excited.
Meanwhile, Sean calmly walked several metres away and raised his wand.
The moment Draco channelled magic into the cloak—
A blue protective barrier instantly appeared around his body.
The students gasped.
Sean smiled faintly.
"This is the standard first-generation defensive cloak."
"As long as magical power is supplied, it creates a defensive shield."
Then Sean casually pointed his wand at Draco.
"Sectumsempra."
BOOM!
A loud explosion echoed through the training room.
Draco screamed in terror and collapsed onto the ground.
Several younger students nearly fainted on the spot.
But after a few seconds—
Draco slowly opened his eyes.
Not a single scratch existed on his body.
Meanwhile, the blue shield surrounding him had merely dimmed slightly.
That was all.
The surrounding students instantly stared at the cloak with blazing eyes.
Sean continued explaining calmly.
"The standard defensive cloak can withstand roughly three Dark Magic attacks within a short period."
"And even if the shield breaks, it'll naturally recover within twenty-four hours."
He smiled.
"It can be reused approximately fifty times."
Then Sean raised his wand again.
"Incendio."
Flames slammed into the shield.
"Expelliarmus."
Another spell struck immediately afterward.
The protective barrier dimmed further, but still remained intact.
The room exploded instantly.
"Boss! I want one!"
"I'm buying one for my parents as a Christmas present!"
"Prefect! Me too!"
"Prefect—!"
The younger snakes surged forward excitedly.
Sean raised one hand calmly.
"The standard defensive cloak," he announced, "costs six hundred and sixty-six Galleons."
The crowd immediately fell silent.
Then Sean continued casually.
"Of course…"
He glanced meaningfully toward Draco.
"For certain noble clients, we've also released a luxury edition."
Draco instantly straightened proudly.
Sean continued:
"The luxury defensive cloak is crafted using magical creature fur and premium materials. Superior craftsmanship, superior appearance, and superior status."
He smiled faintly.
"Only eight hundred and eighty-eight Galleons."
The younger students instantly looked devastated.
"That's way too expensive…"
"My yearly allowance is barely five hundred…"
"I can't afford that at all…"
Watching their miserable expressions, Sean suddenly laughed.
"But…"
Everyone immediately looked up again.
"Since we're classmates," Sean continued warmly, "I'll consider this a Christmas discount."
He waved one hand dramatically.
"The standard edition—one hundred Galleons."
The room exploded.
"And the luxury edition only costs two hundred today."
Sean smiled like a devil tempting souls.
"Miss this opportunity…"
"And you'll never see these prices again."
The next second, the Slytherins completely lost control.
Students rushed forward while pulling Galleons from their pockets frantically.
"I want two!"
"One luxury edition!"
"Prefect, take my money first!"
That afternoon, nearly every Slytherin student purchased at least one defensive cloak.
Most bought two.
One formal.
One casual.
Students from wealthier families like Draco and Charlie naturally chose the luxury editions immediately.
By the end of the day, Sean had already earned over five thousand Galleons.
And that was after the "discount."
Sean stared at the mountain of gold with shining eyes.
Making money this way was even faster than robbing Gringotts.
The best part?
He still wasn't losing anything.
The production cost for a standard cloak was roughly seven Knuts.
Including labour, it still cost less than a single Sickle.
Even the luxury editions only cost around one to three Galleons to manufacture due to the higher-quality materials.
This was pure profit.
Absolute madness.
Sean practically drooled while counting his earnings.
Although he didn't particularly love money itself, the feeling of earning it was undeniably satisfying.
He worked on enchanting defensive cloaks all the way until late that night.
…
Early the following morning, Sean hid inside an empty bathroom before injecting magical power into the golden Galleon mark on his palm.
Almost instantly, Hart appeared in front of him.
"Good morning, Master Sean."
The goblin bowed respectfully.
"Is everything prepared?"
Sean handed him a large package.
"I've already written the instructions for usage inside."
Then his expression became serious.
"But this time, don't sell them immediately."
Hart blinked in confusion.
"Hm?"
"You need reporters first."
Sean rubbed his forehead.
"Hold a press conference."
Hart looked utterly baffled.
"A… press conference?"
Sean sighed deeply.
Wizarding society truly had been stagnant for centuries.
"It means you gather reporters first, demonstrate the product publicly, spread the news beforehand, create anticipation…"
Sean pointed at the package.
"Then release the product the day before Christmas."
Understanding slowly appeared on Hart's face.
The goblin immediately pulled out Sean's instruction manual and began reading carefully.
Several seconds later, his eyes widened dramatically.
"Merlin's beard…"
Hart nearly dropped the papers.
"Master Sean… your pricing is more terrifying than robbing Gringotts itself."
Then his breathing suddenly became excited.
"But the wizards are absolutely going to lose their minds over this."
A moment later, Hart suddenly remembered something else and quickly handed Sean another package.
"Oh, right. There's another issue."
Sean blinked.
"What issue?"
Hart's expression became strange.
"Your vault."
Sean looked confused.
"What about it?"
Hart coughed awkwardly.
"There's no space left."
Sean paused completely.
Hart continued carefully.
"After distributing Gringotts' shares and shareholder profits, the remaining Galleons were stored in your personal vault as instructed…"
The goblin hesitated slightly.
"It's almost full."
Sean stared blankly for several seconds before yawning lazily.
"Then just leave it there for now."
His tone sounded completely unconcerned.
"There'll be even bigger money-burning projects later anyway."
Then he suddenly remembered something.
"Oh right."
Sean looked at Hart again.
"If you have spare time, buy me a house-elf."
Hart immediately bowed.
"Understood, Master Sean."
Then the goblin slowly disappeared from the bathroom once more.
