Ryan's POV
Three years later…
There was a silence to graveyards that never really went away even when there were living people there visiting their loved ones. It was something that he had noticed long ago.
The observation still held true for Ryan as he made his way through the cemetery. His feet carrying him down a path that he had not taken in quite some time, he idly read familiar names on tombstones, and made note of new additions, his heart hurting at what that meant.
Three roses in his hands, Ryan walked quietly until he came to the family plot. The first grave that he visited was that of his father. Not having much to say to the man, Ryan simply ran his fingers over his father's name and placed a single rose on the stone.
His mother's grave got the same treatment with him even kissing the tips of his fingers and bringing them down to the cold stone, briefly remembering a time when he would have kissed his mother's cheek instead.
