"A dance?" I cried, my heart in my throat.
"Yes, child. I used to love dancing with my mate but now these legs are too weak for that. You younglings should do the dancing." He glanced over at auden who had an unreadable expression on, his hand wrapped around a glass of alcohol.
My heartbeat accelerated when his eyes suddenly locked with mine and I faced his grandfather again. "I don't think that's a good idea, I'm a horrible dancer…"
"I can dance, grandpa and auden can be my partner." Violet suddenly got to her feet, already striding to where Auden was standing in.
"The married couple should dance together first. You can dance solo right after them." The grandfather spoke, mothining for Violet to come sit with him and watch instead.
She used all her strength to pretend to not be angry, I forced grin on her face as she took her seat again.
"You're right, grandpa. But I doubt it would be a show worth watching since she isn't a great dancer."
