I tried to act like I wasn't scared as I accompanied the beta back to the king, while wondering what he could be calling me for.
He couldn't even let me fully say goodbye to his brother? Ugh. Tall scoot insufferable.
"Where were you?" He instantly asked as soon as I stepped into the throne room and my heartbeat instantly kicked up.
"I… I was just chilling." I mumbled with a shrug, looking everywhere but at him. The beta already walked off, led under me with him. I let out a shocked gasp when he slid off his seat and began to approach me.
"You were chilling? Where?"
"I… just around the corne—" I trailed off, another gasp leaving me when he suddenly got in my personal space, jerking away. He followed suit and in no time, we were pressed against the door, his body hot against mine.
"Just around the corner? I heard you went to see my brother."
My stomach hooked so tightly, I feared that I might pass out.
"I.., I…"
