Chapter 108 - Chapter 99: I Don’t Like You

Dyna stared at those few letters on the screen, and her mind went completely blank.

This was the first time in her life that someone had dropped such an explosive line on her the moment they met. Sure, Frankel's background and wealth were absolutely top-tier in this world. Dyna honestly couldn't claim she possessed the noble character needed to treat money like dirt.

If she followed nothing but her most basic instincts, Frankel really would qualify for Dyna's hypothetical marriage list. Her status was illustrious, and in the field horse girls cared about most—their racing careers—her achievements were dazzling too.

But the problem was that they had only known each other for a few hours. Even a whirlwind marriage needed at least a three-day trial period before anyone could agree, right?

"This is just… way too bizarre. Ms. Sea the Stars, do you have any idea what's going on?" Dyna set her phone aside for the moment, lay back on the bed, and let out a long sigh at the ceiling. The only person she could ask about this was Sea the Stars. As for why she wasn't asking Cody's Wish… that was because Dyna was one hundred percent certain the American horse girl would be even wilder than she imagined in this sort of situation.

Sea the Stars sat in a chair off to one side, tapping the table with her knuckles. "To be honest, this is the first time I've learned that Frankel has a side like this too. I doubt even Galileo knows."

"Of course, it's not strange for people to hide certain parts of themselves. Everyone has their own soul. But that doesn't change the fact that, as one of her elders, I feel the urge to correct her thinking. If she dares do this once, who knows if she'll turn into another Galileo? One flower-picking bandit in the Sea the Stars family is already enough to give Mother a headache. If Frankel ends up learning from Galileo too, our family's reputation will be ruined."

Even Sea the Stars sounded exasperated as she said it. Their family had spent decades building its legend through their mother, and through the miracle of mother-and-daughter Arc victories. Yet all of that had been overshadowed by Galileo's endless habit of "sweet-talking, tricking, and carrying off" innocent little horse girls.

Dyna's lips twitched. In her previous life, Galileo had been a world-famous prolific sire, and now that she was a horse girl, apparently her nature hadn't changed one bit… Dyna actually found that pretty easy to accept, but as family, Sea the Stars clearly hated it. Both viewpoints made sense, and after listening, Dyna said, "Then I'll just reject her. Frankel's still young. She probably doesn't really understand what love and romance even are yet, right? Since she's still a kid, the adults should just spend a little more effort correcting her behavior."

Dyna had already decided. Once she found the real Sea the Stars, she would tell Sea the Stars and Urban Sea about Frankel's sudden confession. Then the grown-ups could use their vast experience to properly educate her. Dyna would free herself from this emotional mess, and Frankel would get a healthy correction to her thinking.

A perfect solution all around.

So Dyna picked up her phone and sent back:

But I don't like you right now.

It was just one simple sentence, typed out in plain Japanese and sent without hesitation. After that, Dyna tossed the phone onto the bedside table, wrapped herself up in the blanket, and drifted off into a blissful sleep.

Sea the Stars watched the whole exchange from her seat. There was one thing she hadn't told Dyna: everything she had said just now came from the perspective of a newly retired Sea the Stars. But the present-day, living Sea the Stars no longer had the luxury of looking at life purely from the perspective of a horse girl…

Which meant there was actually a good chance the real one would support Frankel.

After all, for an elite horse girl, one of the most important practical matters was finding another equally accomplished racer—someone worthy of continuing a bloodline capable of producing greatness. As for Sea the Stars herself, she was probably already facing the social pressure of finding a partner.

Once a horse girl's racing career ended, she had to step into wider society. Without the shelter of a trainer's protection, horse girls matured quickly. Things could no longer be viewed through the same innocent lens they once had on the track.

So all Sea the Stars could do now was silently pray for Dyna.

Frankel, of course, had no intention of sleeping. She had already decided to stay up all night.

During that late-night meal, she had already managed to stir Dyna's emotions. There was no way Dyna would just go back to her room and fall asleep without checking her phone. Modern horse girls all looked at their phones before bed, didn't they? Which meant she would definitely see the message Frankel had sent.

"Love you… hehe. Even if Dyna doesn't love me yet, that's fine. If she accepted right away, that would be weird. Since that's the case, I'll just stay by her side for the next few months… hehe. No matter how cold-hearted a horse girl might be, if she met someone like me, she'd eventually fall, right?"

Frankel had already changed into a chest-window nightdress, and now lay on top of the blankets, pressing her phone against the soft swell of her chest while fantasizing. The scenario in her head was perfect: Dyna would see the message, let out a shy little gasp, then slowly be overwhelmed by Frankel's prestigious birth, racing achievements, and impossibly handsome-cute-charismatic beauty…

And then, with no need for any elaborate route flags, she would get Dyna's bashful confession CG. After that, Frankel would simply put on a cool expression and magnanimously agree to accept Dyna's feelings, securing this beautiful, aloof flower firmly in her grasp.

Frankel's figure ranked at the top tier even among horse girls. In the gentle glow of the bedside lamp, it was obvious that what she had wasn't something that could be held in one hand.

Just as her thoughts were spiraling, the phone pressed to her chest suddenly vibrated with a reply, accompanied by the sound of her special notification.

"Ahhh! She finally saw it, Dyna, Dyna, Dyna…"

In her panic, Frankel even pressed the wrong finger against the sensor. She gave up and unlocked it with her passcode instead. But once the screen opened and she read the Japanese sentence, all the anticipation she had spent the day building was instantly doused.

But I don't like you right now.

Such a simple sentence.

Frankel let out a small sigh when she saw it.

But honestly, it was exactly what she had expected.

Dyna hadn't said anything harsher—nothing like I don't like you at all, or We're not a match, so give up.

And more importantly…

Dyna had said right now.

Right now.

"That means she can like me in the future! Honestly, if you wanted to like me later, why say it so indirectly? Then I'll just take my time winning you over! My seniors taught me so much about how to pursue horse girls! As long as she doesn't completely hate me, that means I still have a chance!"

Not only had Frankel's mood not dropped, it had actually risen even higher.

Most of the advice those older girls had taught her had gone like this:

If the other girl says she likes you too, that's the destined-heroine route. Just push forward.

If she says she doesn't like you, that's a classic tsundere route. And straight balls are the perfect counter to tsunderes.

Stuff like that. Frankel had absorbed about seventy or eighty percent of it.

Back when she'd first heard it, innocent little Frankel had thought this was all secret race-winning wisdom. During a maiden race, she'd actually tried it on another horse girl. The result was that the other girl blushed through the entire race, and Frankel won while the other girl finished second. At the time, Frankel had even felt a little guilty…

But looking back now, she realized her seniors had just been teasing her in the cutest way possible. So that was what they had really been teaching her—things even more important than racing.

And now it finally had a use.

Poor little Treve had to figure all of this out on her own. Judging from Frankel's understanding of Montjeu, there was no way Montjeu would ever teach her apprentice these kinds of tricks. Montjeu herself was still single, without the slightest sign of romance.

"That's fine, that's fine. If she doesn't like me right now, she'll like me later~"

Although Frankel had spent forever overthinking it, the actual reply she sent back only took a few seconds to type and send.

But no more messages came from Dyna after that. She must have fallen asleep.

Which made sense. She had spent such a long time on the plane, barely rested, and still had to deal with jet lag. She must have been exhausted.

"Oyasumi~"

Frankel said that softly to the phone with a grin full of hidden meaning, then fell asleep as well, still clutching it, without even bothering to pull up the blanket.

The next morning, Frankel was the first one awake.

Still in her nightdress, she yawned her way out into the lounge.

Even though she technically belonged to a royal family, she had always followed one rule in private: wear whatever was most comfortable. Besides, she had booked out the entire Golden Crescent Beach. There were no reporters lurking around, so she could dress however she wanted.

The reason she had gotten up so early was that she wanted to personally oversee the preparations. She had arranged a welcome ceremony for them, and it was happening today. As for when it would actually begin, that depended entirely on when the others woke up. After all, adjusting to jet lag was miserable. Frankel knew that from personal experience.

The team she'd hired, naturally, was the same one that had received Dyna's party at the airport. They were the group she trusted most, and since they had no other commissions, she'd simply kept using them.

So when she appeared in the lounge in her nightgown, everyone greeted her first—and only after that did they notice what she was wearing.

"Good morning Thanks for starting so early. Same request as before—just make sure our guests feel comfortable"

Frankel first strolled over to the catering area. Catching sight of the chefs working busily in the kitchen, she casually grabbed a hot crispy sausage roll that had just come out, bit into it, and hummed in satisfaction. "Mmm, just as good as ever~"

Hearing that praise, the chef nearly lost control of his smile. Praise was always delightful, but hearing it from your employer—especially an employer who stood at the very top of the British horse girl world—was another matter entirely. He immediately started working even harder.

For this team, what made Frankel so charming wasn't just that she was beautiful, or had an amazing figure, or paid generously—though those certainly helped. The biggest reason was that she was genuinely kind, and her own personal radiance was blindingly bright.

Frankel spent half an hour inspecting the entire venue and found nothing wrong. She had no real understanding of interior design concepts, but as long as nothing posed a safety risk, she never interfered. An amateur instructing professionals was practically begging for trouble. Besides, the team had already interacted with Dyna's group the night before, so they probably had a good grasp of their tastes by now.

Once that was done, Frankel returned to her room, packed a swimsuit and some sunscreen into a small bag, and changed out of her nightwear into a summery dress that showed off the elegant lines of her legs.

And as she did, all kinds of scenes ran through her mind.

Even just imagining Dyna in a swimsuit was enough to set her heart racing. Honestly, even the way Dyna looked right now was already dangerously effective.

"Hmm~ It's been ages since I've been this happy about going to the beach. I really want to see Dyna-chan in a swimsuit. Really, really want to…"

As Frankel walked down the path, her mind filled itself with one vivid fantasy after another. Since she had chartered the entire Golden Crescent Beach, she could have walked straight out there in a swimsuit if she wanted. But deep down, she still preferred the idea of changing at the beach itself.

When Dyna finally woke up, her head felt thick and foggy. Her body clock insisted she should keep sleeping, but the blazing sunlight coming through the curtains made that impossible.

"Miss Cody's Wishyyyyy—this feels awful—"

Hugging the blanket, Dyna rolled back and forth on the bed. It took her quite a while to shake off the dizziness. Only after that did she feel a little better.

Cody's Wish sat by the window, flipping through one of her books. "Cold water on your face helps a lot. Jet lag is just like that. If something can't be changed, then all you can do is adapt as fast as possible."

"But it's so hard to adapt…"

Dyna only ever let herself act spoiled like this in front of Cody's Wish. She hurled herself straight into Cody's lap—her head hurt a little from the impact, but being stroked by Cody afterward felt wonderful.

Looking down at the chestnut-colored big cat sprawled across her lap, Cody's Wish could only smile helplessly as she smoothed Dyna's hair down along the grain. "All right, all right. You don't look like someone who's truly miserable. Hurry up and get washed."

"Nooo—I'm staying in bed until afternoon. My body clock says I need more sleep!"

"Get up already! You came here to train, didn't you? If you keep lazing around all day, you're going to turn into a fat horse!"

With that, Cody's Wish flicked Dyna squarely on the forehead, leaving behind a red mark.

"Oww! That hurts! Fine, fine, I'm getting up!"

Once she had gathered enough energy, Dyna could finally go do what she wanted. After all, she really didn't have much to do before July. All she needed was to get her body back into shape and prepare for special training.

So she changed into the pale blue dress she'd brought, put on a straw hat with cutouts for her ears, slipped into the flat shoes she found most comfortable, and left the room.

At the same time, she pulled the keycard out of the door slot and took it with her. Protecting her private space had long since become instinct.

There was still no sign of the others in the neighboring rooms. As for Treve… Dyna had no idea where she'd gone. French little horse girls were free spirits; once they decided to go somewhere, nobody could stop them.

Right now, Dyna just wanted to enjoy the sunlight and the beach.

And, of course, swimsuit Frankel…

Hm?

Swimsuit Frankel?
