"Well then, well then, let's not talk too much for now~ Once you're all properly rested, we can head to Saint Ives. I've booked the place for the whole next three months anyway, so it doesn't matter when we go."
Frankel was in an exceptionally good mood. The moment she sent that message, she had already started imagining what would happen when Dyna finally saw it while alone.
First, Dyna would let out a startled, adorable little gasp. Then she'd be completely overwhelmed by Frankel's background, her racing record, her handsome, charming, dazzling looks… and without any need for strategy at all, Frankel would get the shy confession CG of the cold, untouchable flower named Luminous Dyna.
Then she herself would put on an aloof act, reluctantly accept the confession, and from that moment on, this icy blossom would be completely in her grasp.
It was a flawless plan.
Frankel had absolute confidence in it, because there simply weren't many horse girls who could resist that many favorable conditions piled up at once. In the world of racing, strength ruled above all else. And beyond being strong, Frankel was also flawless in all the mundane areas of life. How could anyone possibly withstand the aura she radiated from head to toe?
So when she stood before Dyna, she practically looked like she was glowing.
Dyna, on the other hand, was still incomparably restrained. She lowered her head slightly and said, "Actually, I'm already well-rested enough. Maybe it'd be better to ask everyone else?"
But really, the one who had reacted most strongly during the trip had been Dyna herself. Since even she said she was fine, then the others obviously had no problem either.
So after Dyna finished off the rest of the food on the table, the group left the airport and boarded the RV Frankel's personal driver had brought, heading for Saint Ives.
Driving from Ascot to Saint Ives took about four hours, which meant it also became one more stretch of rest time.
Frankel had originally assumed that these friends from Japan would be clearly exhausted from the time difference, or at least show obvious signs of fatigue. She had not expected them all to look so lively and refreshed. It made her once again marvel at just how vast the physical differences between people—and horse girls—could be.
These people might never reach the same heights she had on the racetrack, but she herself could never have a body that adapted so cleanly to environmental changes. Whenever Frankel flew from England to Dubai, she needed at least a full week to acclimate. The enormous climate difference, coupled with her own constitution, meant that unless absolutely necessary, she never wanted to leave England.
If she ever ran short on cash, she could just ask her family in Dubai.
Of course, Frankel "running short on cash" was itself a nearly impossible concept. Setting aside the pocket money from home, as a specially titled British baroness, she had plenty of her own ways of making money. Besides, she only ever spent lavishly on things she genuinely liked. She was not reckless with money, so she had accumulated a respectable amount over time.
That said, the word "respectable" was only small by royal family standards. Compared to the rest of her relatives, she'd definitely still be seen as a little brat.
Inside the RV, Frankel lounged comfortably on one of the narrow beds, lying on her side and staring fixedly at Dyna without looking away for even a second. The vehicle had been specially modified, perfect for group travel like this. Everyone had their own small bed, so no one would feel embarrassed from excessive closeness, and the shared middle space was still roomy enough for everyday activities.
Although they had all said they felt fine, the moment they got into the soft, comfortable interior of the RV and touched the bedding, they all dropped straight into deep sleep. That was why Frankel was so openly admiring Dyna's sleeping face.
Her breathing was soft, slow… unbearably cute.
"Big Sis Fran… why do you become a completely different person whenever you see Dyna? Seriously, it's like…" Zhuofu sat in one of the chairs, scrolling through her phone. She had already noticed this shift in Frankel from the terminal onward, but because everyone else had still been awake, she hadn't said anything. Now, however, since only the driver remained conscious besides the two of them, she could finally ask outright.
After all, after flying for so long, the others definitely weren't waking up before they reached Saint Ives.
Frankel pressed a finger to her lips. "Shh Quiet, okay? It'd be bad if we disturbed Miss Luminous Dyna while she's resting. And look at her—she's especially pretty while sleeping too Little Zhuofu, how exactly did you meet her? Tell me, tell me. And tell me what she likes too, okay?"
Zhuofu covered half her face with her phone and rolled her eyes helplessly.
Great. Frankel had already moved on to intelligence gathering.
Maybe she never should have asked Frankel to help with this. She was starting to feel like she'd let a wolf into the house. But really, Frankel had offered too much in return. The Saint Ives crescent golden beach all to themselves for the whole summer—how was anyone supposed to say no to that?
So Zhuofu caved.
Still, there was no way—absolutely no way—she was handing Dyna over.
And so, although she recounted everything from that first chance meeting in the bakery, to Dyna staying in France, to her departure after the Marcel Boussac, Zhuofu firmly refused to reveal Dyna's tastes.
"When Dyna was with me, she always showed her perfect side," Zhuofu said. "She hardly ever let her real emotions show, so I honestly don't know what she likes or dislikes. But with a personality like hers—broad and tolerant—I don't think she'd hate anything normal."
That was only half true, of course. Zhuofu knew very well that Dyna loved sweet things. But it was also true that Dyna's nature was extraordinarily expansive—so long as someone was a normal person, she would never dislike them. If anything, she'd start with a positive impression.
"So that's how it is A horse girl who's naturally excellent at social etiquette… ahhh I seriously like her so much So this is what the other horse girls must feel when they see my big sister Galileo Ahhh Fine, I forgive Galileo now If I were in her shoes, I probably wouldn't be able to help myself either~"
Frankel covered her face and rolled around on the bed, letting out a shrill kettle-like squeal. Zhuofu's eyebrows shot even higher.
So under that perfect shell, there really was a complete degenerate hidden inside, huh?
Zhuofu was exhausted. She had truly let a wolf into the room.
Outwardly she stayed calm, but inside, tidal waves were crashing through her mind. She didn't think she could compete with Frankel in any category, and the one advantage she'd had had already been destroyed the moment Frankel got Dyna's contact information.
Well…
There was still one thing Zhuofu had over her.
Her bond with Dyna ran deeper.
Dyna wasn't the kind of horse girl who forgot old feelings for new ones. So no matter how Frankel attacked, Zhuofu still had a place at her side. Meeting first really was an advantage like that…!
Thinking this, Zhuofu straightened up and puffed out her chest. When facing Frankel, at least, she could still hold her ground.
In any case, over those four hours, the only sounds in the RV were the engine and the low hum of the road. Zhuofu kept sending private messages to Dyna's account, waiting for her to wake up and see them.
At least Frankel couldn't have possibly gotten Dyna's contact and then immediately messaged her, right?
If she really had done that, that would be way too shameless.
"Miss, we've arrived. This is the resting area of the Saint Ives Golden Crescent Beach training grounds. I've already had everyone's luggage sent to their individual rooms."
The driver opened the RV door. Everything that needed doing had already been neatly taken care of. Frankel stepped out and stretched, while the others, still foggy with sleep, shuffled off the vehicle one by one.
The one in the best spirits was Frankel herself.
She had slipped away straight from Ascot after the race, and by now, after such a long trip, it was already night. Normally, this was about the time she'd start feeling drowsy. But today, Frankel was completely energized.
Not only were the coming months all set aside for leisure, fun, and entertainment, but most importantly—she'd get to spend them with the girl she liked.
What in the world could be happier than that?
Nothing. Frankel couldn't think of a single thing.
And so, while still reveling in that thought, she turned to Dyna and invited her, "Miss Luminous Dyna Want to go get a late-night meal together? Saint Ives has all kinds of good food"
Crack.
That was the sound of Zhuofu clenching her fist so hard her knuckles popped.
Shameless.
Completely, utterly shameless.
Zhuofu exploded inwardly, and the only way she could retaliate was by immediately raising her own hand.
"I'm hungry too. I haven't eaten all day. I'm coming."
For the first time, Frankel's brows twitched. This level of boldness from Zhuofu was outside her expectations. That brief reaction showed it clearly.
Still half dazed, Dyna didn't notice the atmosphere between them had turned strange at all. She just nodded. "Mm? Then let's all go together. I'm starting to get hungry again too… Though if that's the case, I'll be relying on you as our guide, Miss Frankel. I really don't know my way around here at all, especially at night."
"Of course, no problem Since Miss Luminous Dyna said so, let's go then The gates here are always open for us Right, little Zhuofu?"
Frankel turned and smiled at Zhuofu. In the dark, all Zhuofu could make out was the smile itself—whatever lurked inside it, she couldn't tell. Probably something along the lines of I'm going to swallow you whole.
Wada naturally didn't object to the girls going out. With Frankel leading them, nothing was going to go wrong. So he, Opera O, and Qirui Jun simply followed the attendants to their rooms to rest and adjust to the time difference.
Zhuofu and Frankel, of course, had both already been living in Europe, so they needed no such adjustment.
As for Dyna… well, she'd been to Europe before, so she probably didn't need to worry either.
At night, the restaurants around Saint Ives' golden crescent beach were still open. Ordinarily, since the entire beach had been booked out, they would have had no reason to keep operating—but Frankel had paid too much.
The money they'd received just for staying open through these months of exclusive use was enough to equal half a peak season's revenue. Of course they were going to stay open twenty-four hours a day. Compared to that, the water and electricity bills were basically pocket change.
And naturally, since Frankel herself was bringing them here for a midnight meal, she couldn't possibly take them somewhere that only served fish and chips. Though, truth be told, there was something a little too darkly funny about how "British cuisine" was mostly just French cuisine in disguise…
Still, Frankel was certain Dyna didn't divide food by cuisine. In Dyna's eyes, there was only delicious and not delicious.
So Frankel led them straight to a French restaurant. Looking at the glowing neon sign outside, Zhuofu's eyelids twitched violently. But on the other hand, at least they weren't eating British fried fish and potatoes. In truth, Zhuofu wasn't even hungry. She had only come so she could stay by Dyna's side and watch Frankel.
"Boss Three deluxe sets"
The moment Frankel walked in, she smoothly chose a seat, then patted the one beside her for Dyna to sit there.
As for Zhuofu… sisterhood was only worth so much in front of the person you liked.
Zhuofu had been convinced Dyna wouldn't sit there. But to her horror, the still somewhat groggy Dyna sat down beside Frankel exactly as invited.
Zhuofu nearly bit her own tongue, and her eyes instantly turned damp with grievance. She glared at Frankel with pure jealousy.
"Tehee~"
That was the emotion Zhuofu read in Frankel's eyes.
She saw it clearly.
And yet she could do absolutely nothing about it.
This meal had exactly one person who didn't enjoy it.
Who could that possibly have been?
What a hard mystery.
When they finally left the restaurant, it was already two in the morning, London time. Once Dyna woke up fully, she no longer felt sleepy at all, so by the time she got back to her room she was wide awake.
Now that she had arrived at the training site, this room would be where she lived for the next several months. So she immediately pulled out her laptop, plugged it in, turned it on, connected to the Wi-Fi, and logged onto the relevant websites.
The problem was that everything was in English, which was still tiring for her to read. Most of the time she had to photograph the screen with her phone, translate it, and then read through the results. Still, because this was a local site, the amount of information she could find on horse girls was far greater than back home. It didn't take long before she looked up Sea the Stars.
Nothing especially noteworthy had happened in the years since her retirement. She had once said that after retiring for two or three years, she wanted to travel the world and see every famous landmark on the planet. Judging from that, the real Sea the Stars was probably still at whatever place the Sea the Stars inside her mind had mentioned before.
"Oh right… my phone. There shouldn't be any messages, right?"
Only then did Dyna remember it. Earlier, her battery had fully died and the phone had shut itself off. Once it restarted on the charger, the first thing that appeared were Zhuofu's messages.
They were all strange—fragmented, disconnected, and frankly hard to follow. Dyna stared at them, puzzled.
But once she exited back to the main screen, she saw Frankel's message.
And the time stamp matched exactly when they had first met.
"Love you?"
Dyna thought she must be seeing it wrong, so she refreshed the screen and read it aloud again.
"Love… you??"
Was that some kind of new greeting?
Even in a gal game, people didn't just say love straight out like that, did they?
