Chapter 8 - Chapter 7

One must remember the order and the light, the warnings that came and the risks they bore.

"...Yes....that is so "

One must know that there are consequences to every decision and every choice has its own costs.

" I am well aware. "

....One understands peace

".....Death is not the end "

One sees the futility in hope

"He is not yet lost"

One believes he will be

"....I don't. "

Just then the air silenced as a momentarily peace ensued, a woman - finely clothed, sat amongst grass so green that they offered a stark contrast to her surroundings.

She closed her eyes, letting the cool breeze brush against her skin and she took in a deep breathe.

"There is no Emotion, there is Peace"

She began, silently chanting as the air arouns her seemed to move in sync.

" There is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge

There is no passion, there is Serenity

There is no chaos, there is Harmony

There is no Death....there is only...the force "

The last words rolled off her lips as she then opened her eyes, the sound and emnating heat from a saber close to her neck greeting her back.

" You're awake " She spoke softly.

"...." No reply came, only a slight grunt in pain and the sound of a grip tightening against the handle its saber.

" Seat, I have done all I can for your injuries but you are still not at full health brethren " She continued, unbothered by the actions of the man.

She turned, wishing to simply move herself away from danger and face the man that so daring choose to threaten her life.

But to her surprise, he reacted to it.

" Move if you will and I shall cut you down where you stand " The man spoke, his voice hoarse and shaky. He was weak, confused and most of all, angry.

His rage only growing with his hatred of his situation, the whispers between his skull only ever intensifying with each second.

It was maddening, driving him crazy.

He should just kill her and be done with it.

" Why haven't you yet ? " She asked calmly.

He paused, why hadn't he? Well the answer was obvious.

" Because I need answers and you will provide them willingly or unwillingly "

He replied, edging his blade closer to her.

" Well, I always planned to answer questions. Afterall, its always nice to have someone to speak to other than the silence of centuries and the ramblings of ones beloved "

She replied, slightly pushing this blade away with her hands though they never met. Rather, she used the force to do so as she stood up at her own pace.

The battered man paused for a few seconds, his mind racing for reasoning and then one came - Kill Her!

He moved, his saber fueled by his rage and hate. An over arching swing meant for decapitation and a quick end to her pitiful existence.

The blade came close, mere inches from her neck...yet, it never connected.

" If you aren't going to kill me then join me in concentration. The sea may be boundless but my patience is not " She said, taking a few steps away from her position and then seating down no more than a few feet from her original position.

The man, once again, searched for reason within his mind. He could not understand his situation, he could not understand....anything.

But as he looked at the woman before him who seemed unbothered by the whispers, by the madness that seemed to claim this planet.

A women who seemed oblivious to the darkness that consumed everything with such hunger that it drowned him...he...remained silent.

" You know, not every woman is as generous as me. I offered you company twice and I do so a third time. Be a gentleman and oblige me at least " She began, not opening her eyes as she spoke of him.

Her right hand tapping the empty spot beside her as the area seemed to clear and await the sitting of his butt.

He stood still, just staring and as he took a step - his mind engulfed in flames, rage, fear, hated, everything assaulted him at ones as his saber, which had been down, suddenly went up in agitation.

The woman, upon seeing this took a deep breathe and sighed.

" You must have peace if you are to properly accompany. Come, take some tea and breathe "

She said, offering him one of her personal tea cups which was still steaming hot with her newly brewed concoction.

" They will also help with the...headaches " She added in and that moved him to quickly take a cup and chug the entire thing down.

But just as quickly as he downed it, his body pushed it back with violent disgust as the concoction seemed to have been made with the sorrows of the dead.

He turned and bent, already prepared to throw away everything he had left including the 'tea'

" YOU WILL NOT DARE " The women shot up suddenly, the air that was previously warm turned cold and still. The grasses paled and withered.

The man, upon sensing the wrongness in everything, chose to have the little peace he got and swallowed everything back.

" Good boy " She said with a soft kind smile as the entire environment continued like the past few seconds had never happened.

Still silent, the man turned to look at the woman who had already gone back to meditation and then joined her.

" Take a deep breathe, quiet your mind "

She instructed.

Initially he blocked her words out, only seeing visions of rage and death. Memories of pain and hate, words of betrayal and fear.

" Find your peace boy, find it " She instructed again.

He took a deep breathe once more and suppressed his memories. Wishing to use force and brute force his way to peace.

For if his mind will not listen on its own will, then he will make it do so.

But then, he felt the slight slap at the back of his head as he looked back, shocked at who would dare such a thing.

" Do not try to forcefully shut back a wave. Redirected it, absorb it but do not forcibly build a wall through weak obstacles. Find your peace "

The woman instructed as she took a deep breathe and expected him to do the same...he did not.

Again and again, he seemed hell bent on doing things his way. Trying to go with his current understanding rather than simply thinking.

And with each failure came more...slaps.

" ...This will be a long day " Her frustrated voice muttered silently as she glanced at the soul who seemed so unfortunate in her eyes. Too unfortunate.

***

He was stubborn, she would give him that but at least, he sought reasoning. Perhaps she was wrong, perhaps she couldn't pull him back from the abyss to which he slowly falls into.

" Peace is a lie, there is only passion. There is no emotion, there is only peace.....and you say along with...that thing, that the force has its will? "

"....No, you both believe that the force has will because it does. The Jedi guide it and the Sith seeks to enslave it, bind it by their will. "

" One seeks to understand it, one seeks only its power. Yet in all life, there is the force - that is a fact. The force....the force is alive? "

" It would explain much from the ways of the Jedi, the order's way. It will also fit into the way of the sith for to bind the living to one's will is to...control it "

" But as slaves will always do, it will resist and in this case - it has the power to do so...so perhaps...the cost of the dark side is the cost of trying to enslave it? Just as Master Yoda has said "

" A half truth boy, you come to surprising conclusions on your own "

" Nothing of my creativity, I seek only to decipher what I have heard, seen and what I currently hear "

" I told you to cast those voices aside, your mind is too weak to withstand them "

" Too late, I have been listening as they have been talking. I fear what you already seemed to have known " He replied, still sitting within his own mind as he worked to handle the knowledge he bore.

It had been a few weeks since he came here, much progress was made though, to the frustration of his savior, not in the direction she wished exactly.

It was clear that the dark path of the force had already taken root within him and while his anger and hate were within control, they were still there. Just buried.

She wished she had more time with him, she believed - no, she knew that if she had more time then she could wrestle him back from the dark side.

But time...time was the only thing she could no longer spare.

" I cannot continue to repeat what you already know, you have been trained in our ways and yet you choose to delve into the ways of the lost and the damned " She said, a part of her annoyed at the choices the boy seemed to make.

" Ways that have proven false, the darkness upon this planet - for all its fault, has shown some clarity in things. The Jedi were lost and their fall inevitable as I had saw "

She grimaced and frowned, some old memories resurfacing as she stared at the calmed boy.

" You begin to sound like them ? " She sajd briefly as her expression darkened.

" Like who?"

" A sect of cult that I buried here so many years ago, perhaps it is their voice you hear and if it is so, then I implore to not listen " She said, her voice getting a little agitated.

" Regardless Master, they may be some truth to their reasoning for as I told you - my order, the great Jedi order....had fallen "

" It will be rebuilt as well, the light will prevail as is destined "

"...Perhaps but to deny the circle of repetition, one must understand its faults"

" You sound more like the sith each day you spend here, perhaps it was a mistake to do this...to take my chance on you "

"....I seek only to understand "

" No, you seek control. Understanding the circle is only the first step and it is only a matter of time before you want more "

"...So, you have made up your mind then. Will you try to cut me down now....Master? "

" Even if I wanted to do so, I cannot. My time has come my short padawan ".
