The Gilded Lily floated on Lake Sereth.
Holden saw it from the transport jet thirty miles away. A massive, glowing structure sat on the surface of the lake, surrounded by darkness on every side. The water below was almost completely black. Enchanted pontoons kept the casino city afloat while also maintaining a field of magical darkness around it, swallowing light and sound and hiding the entire place from anyone who wasn't specifically looking for it.
From above, however, it was impossible to miss. A floating city of gold and light sat in the middle of the dark water, its neon signs and enchanted lights painting the lake in shifting colors.
