Cheryl was already suspicious when they were suddenly summoned by the Grand Duke of Carnoire.
“Why on earth does he want us? He wouldn’t call us over for nothing, right?”
“Let’s just go and see, Cheryl.”
Ethan tried to calm her as they headed to the drawing room.
As they walked down the long hallway, Ethan surveyed their surroundings. The Grand Duke’s residence in the capital had hardly changed from when they used to live there with Aerta. It was as if time had frozen there.
Given how much wealth he possessed, he could have easily decorated the place with the most modern pieces of furniture, but the Grand Duke was having all of his old things taken care of nicely and kept having stuff repaired.
It would probably stay like that until Aerta got her hands on it.
He must have been keeping it all intact because of all the memories it held.
