Chapter 363 - Chapter 363: Complete Kyurem Is Genuinely Fierce! Is Arceus Peeking In on This?

Chapter 363: Complete Kyurem Is Genuinely Fierce! Is Arceus Peeking In on This?

In the vast, empty desert, the two sides of Pokémon stood locked in a tense standoff.

Finally, Evil Hoopa was the first to lose its patience, letting out a furious roar.

As though obeying a direct command, the Legendaries on either side of Evil Hoopa all sprang into action at once.

A deep dragon's roar sounded, and Dialga, its body shimmering with diamond-blue divine radiance, condensed a shimmering, dreamlike burst of blue energy in its mouth.

Roar of Time!

A blue beam of light, seemingly capable of warping time itself, tore through the air.

"Origin Pulse!" Mammon gave the order instantly.

Primal Kyogre let out a deep, resonant cry, ancient and low. The already-dark sky darkened further still, torrential rain pouring down in sheets — Primordial Sea!

At the same time, four enormous orbs of water flared to life in front of Primal Kyogre, four beams of water-blue light rising to meet the incoming attack.

Water-type Origin Pulse!

BOOM!

Roar of Time and Origin Pulse collided violently in midair, shattering apart with a thunderous crash, a powerful shockwave rippling outward.

But before the dust had even fully cleared, a blindingly fast streak of green tore through the air, cutting through like a razor-sharp blade.

Mega Rayquaza's Dragon Ascent!

"Rayquaza!"

Black Rayquaza let out a roar that shook the heavens, its gorgeous, jet-black dragon body flaring with brilliant green light — Dragon Ascent!

CRASH!

The two attacks collided head-on in midair, the same move, the same species facing off against itself. Violent winds howled outward, green gusts of pressure surging wildly against each other.

For a moment, neither side seemed to gain the upper hand.

"It can actually hold its own against Black Rayquaza's Dragon Ascent?" Mammon raised an eyebrow at that.

"Mother's strength is genuinely formidable — only slightly below Father's own."

Young Rayquaza's dragon face twisted with a genuinely human-like conflict, watching its own parents clash head-on, momentarily unsure who exactly to root for.

"Looks like settling this one isn't going to happen quickly."

Mammon clicked his tongue at that — which meant Black Rayquaza genuinely wasn't going to overpower this Mega Rayquaza in any short amount of time.

"Let me take on this Mega Rayquaza. I can suppress it."

Complete Kyurem was itching for the chance — having lost to Black Rayquaza back in Unova, there was no way it didn't still carry some lingering resentment over that. Sure, it had genuinely lost fair and square that time, nothing to argue there.

But wasn't this exactly the opportunity it had been waiting for? And on top of that, this opponent was Black Rayquaza's own mate!

"Hold on, the other side hasn't fully committed yet." Mammon calmed Complete Kyurem down.

Right at that moment, accompanied by a high, resonant cry, a ring of crystalline light swept instantaneously across the sky and land alike.

In the blink of an eye, the rain clouds that had been blanketing the area under Primordial Sea's effect vanished entirely, revealing a clean, clear blue sky.

Primordial Sea, cleared away, just like that?

Mammon's eyebrows rose — but this clearly wasn't Mega Rayquaza's doing, since the sky and land had been swept completely clean, nothing resembling what Delta Stream would normally do.

"That little tortoise."

Mammon's gaze shifted toward the visually-overwhelming, gem-encrusted Terastal Terapagos on the opposing side.

Right — this was Terapagos's doing.

"Teraforming Zero — it can even wipe out Primordial Sea entirely."

Mammon was genuinely a little surprised. Normally, as one of the top-tier weather-based abilities, Primordial Sea could only be countered by other equally top-tier weather abilities like Desolate Land or Delta Stream.

But the Generation IX Creation Trio member, Terapagos, was itself the universal counter to every weather and terrain effect in existence!

In its Stellar Forme, Terapagos's ability shifts to Teraforming Zero — Teraforming Zero: eliminates every active weather and terrain effect entirely, resetting the field to neutral.

That was Stellar Terapagos's signature ability — a genuine terminator of weather and terrain effects.

"Its raw strength probably plays a role in this too," Mammon mused, eyes flickering slightly. This Terapagos's actual combat strength was genuinely quite formidable — otherwise, even with Teraforming Zero being the natural counter to weather it was, fully neutralizing something as powerful as Primordial Sea wouldn't have been an easy feat.

After all, in practice, raw strength remains the foundation underlying everything else. Put a genuinely weak Terapagos in that position, and Teraforming Zero probably wouldn't have managed to zero it out successfully at all.

Right at that moment, the sky, which had just cleared to a bright, spotless blue thanks to Teraforming Zero, suddenly plunged into darkness once more.

Countless black orbs of spirit energy, drifting like ghostly apparitions, blanketed the sky, eerie and silent.

"Mewtwo!"

Mammon's eyes narrowed, focused on the figure ahead — the legendary king, mounted on its dark steed, currently raising its right arm high.

Calyrex's signature move, Astral Barrage!

As dark-horse Calyrex's right arm swept downward with force, that terrifying, overwhelming mass of black spirit energy came pouring down instantly.

Mega Mewtwo Y shot upward instantly, its deep-violet psychic power forming into a massive barrier.

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

A deafening series of explosions rang out as Astral Barrage's spirits crashed relentlessly against Mega Mewtwo Y's psychic barrier, powerful shockwaves rippling wildly.

Deep violet flame flickered ceaselessly in Mega Mewtwo Y's eyes. This level of attack power...

"Strange — why is it in its mounted form?" Mammon studied the not-especially-large but genuinely dignified dark-horse Calyrex, still a little puzzled.

Calyrex, revered as the "King of Kings" and the "Harvest King," had once ruled as the ancient king of the entire Galar region. But eventually, its kingdom collapsed, and as humanity's faith in Calyrex faded away, the erosion of that faith weakened its power considerably — to the point where even its beloved steeds, Glastrier and Spectrier, abandoned it entirely.

In the game, Calyrex, reduced to a fraction of its former strength, regains its power with the protagonist's help by reuniting with its steed, then offers the protagonist a chance to challenge and catch it — ultimately defeated by the protagonist, before setting off to travel alongside them.

But this Calyrex, appearing already mounted from the start, was clearly something different — evidently diverging from the game's own storyline here.

Not that it especially mattered, though.

"Mewtwo, you handle Calyrex."

Having weathered Astral Barrage's assault, Mammon decisively sent Mega Mewtwo Y in to take on dark-horse Calyrex.

"Kyurem, go take down Zygarde — think you can handle that?"

Mammon then chose to go on the offensive himself.

"A mere land dragon? Fighting dragons is exactly what I enjoy most!"

Complete Kyurem broke into a savage grin, the turbine on its tail flaring with lightning as it surged straight toward Complete Forme Zygarde.

Blue lightning crackled ceaselessly, curving into an arc that fully enveloped Complete Kyurem.

Ice-type Freeze Shock!

Seeing Complete Kyurem's aggressive charge coming, Complete Forme Zygarde showed not the slightest fear. Its colossal, giant-like body surged skyward, the massive maw in its chest snapping open abruptly, condensing a burst of pure, concentrated draconic light.

The next instant, a thick, coiling beam of green light shot out, tracing a distinct Z-shape through the air.

Dragon-type Core Enforcer!

BOOM!

Core Enforcer slammed heavily into Freeze Shock, a thunderous roar shaking the sky, surging green light illuminating the heavens.

Complete Forme Zygarde's power really was formidable!

And yet, amid that thunderous crash, Complete Kyurem's Freeze Shock forced its way straight through the energy, unrelenting — before Complete Forme Zygarde's own disbelieving eyes.

CRASH!

Freeze Shock slammed hard into Complete Forme Zygarde's body. Crackle, crackle—

A bone-chilling sound of ice forming rang out ceaselessly, a thick layer of frost instantly crystallizing across Complete Forme Zygarde's chest.

Complete Forme Zygarde let out an agonized roar as its colossal body was sent flying by the impact, crashing hard into the desert sand, kicking up a wave of sand more than ten meters high.

"ROAR!!"

Complete Kyurem threw its head back with a commanding, triumphant roar. Some "guardian of ecological order," huh? All that talk, and one hit sends it flying?

"Whoa!! Kyurem!! That's incredible!"

Confined Hoopa stared in genuine amazement at the sight. That was Complete Forme Zygarde, after all — even Hoopa in its own prime had once had to approach it with real caution.

And yet Complete Kyurem had just met it head-on and sent it flying with a single clash. Genuinely, overwhelmingly impressive.

Was fusing Reshiram and Zekrom really that much of a boost?

"As expected of Kyurem." Mammon offered his praise — honestly, credit where due, three-way fused Kyurem really was fierce.

Though it also helped that Complete Forme Zygarde wasn't primarily an offense-oriented top-tier Legendary to begin with — its greatest strength lay in its absurdly high durability, arguably the single most extreme stamina stat among all top-tier Legendaries. If this had been Black Rayquaza instead, things wouldn't have gone quite this smoothly.

But in the very next instant, a dense swarm of green light-arrows shot skyward, streaking at high speed toward Complete Kyurem in the air.

Ground-type Thousand Arrows!

This, too, was one of Zygarde's signature moves — Zygarde had more exclusive signature moves than nearly any other Legendary, a full four of them.

As the sand settled, Complete Forme Zygarde now stood firmly planted on the desert floor. Being a land-dragon, technically speaking, solid ground was Complete Forme Zygarde's true home turf.

Complete Kyurem roared, its jaws snapping open to unleash a fierce blizzard of ice and snow.

Blizzard!

Blizzard collided violently with Thousand Arrows, green arrows of light and icy-blue snowstorm clashing furiously in midair, each battering ceaselessly against the other.

Visibly, though, Blizzard was slightly overpowering Thousand Arrows — Complete Forme Zygarde's offense was clearly falling short against Complete Kyurem's own.

"Kyurem can keep Zygarde suppressed — shouldn't take too long to finish it off from here."

Mammon held genuine confidence in Complete Kyurem — this was, after all, the fully-merged, three-part dragon deity. Sure, it didn't seem to have fully reverted back to its original Unova dragon-deity form, but Complete Kyurem's current strength could already be considered top-tier in this current era regardless.

Not to mention Complete Forme Zygarde carried a 4x weakness to Ice — Complete Kyurem held the clear advantage in both raw power and typing. Bringing down Complete Forme Zygarde really wasn't going to be especially difficult.

"Giratina, why don't you go take on Palkia?"

Mammon turned his attention toward Evil Hoopa's side of the field — Evil Hoopa, Stellar Terapagos, Origin Palkia.

Origin Forme Giratina's dragon eyes, silent and savage, slowly slithered its colossal, centipede-like body forward, surging toward Origin Forme Palkia.

Taking on Palkia was something Giratina was genuinely more than happy to do. So what if this water dragon had reached its Origin Forme? Giratina could still suppress it completely regardless!

"If I weren't worried about triggering an even more chaotic rampage, I'd just have it strike them all down with the Wrathful Lightning right now."

Mammon clicked his tongue. Giratina could tear open rifts in space-time to hurl down the Wrathful Lightning, triggering a berserk rampage in these Legendaries — which would naturally shatter Evil Hoopa's hold over them without any further effort.

But the fallout from the Wrathful Lightning would be far more severe. Just Origin Palkia and Dialga going berserk alone would already risk unleashing full spatiotemporal chaos, tearing open rifts in space-time — never mind throwing Complete Forme Zygarde and the rest of these top-tier Legendaries into the mix on top of that.

If he genuinely struck them all down with the Wrathful Lightning, the Alpaca would probably come down to clean up the mess before long.

Come to think of it, with a spectacle this massive unfolding, there was no way Arceus wasn't aware of it by now. Probably off hiding in some corner somewhere, munching on sunflower seeds, watching the whole thing unfold.
