Chapter 127 - Chapter 127: The Careless Creator of G2

Chapter 127: The Careless Creator of G2

*Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!*

Soon, the drone activated again, ascending into the sky with the battered Genos and the unscathed G2.

King waved at Genos as a farewell, then turned to leave.

"Ordinary person, can you tell me your name?"

Genos's voice suddenly carried down from mid-air.

"My name?"

King stopped, then tilted his head slightly, looking up at Genos in the sky.

*CRACK!*

A bolt of lightning suddenly flashed past. The fleeting electric light starkly illuminated the three gruesome scars on King's resolute face, displaying them clearly before Genos's eyes.

"Remember it, Genos. My name is... King."

"King?"

Genos's pupils contracted. The publicly acknowledged strongest man on Earth—King!

King waved once more, then turned and vanished into the curtain of rain, leaving without a trace.

"Emergency evacuation notice, emergency evacuation notice. A Monster has appeared on Nanyang Alley in Z City, threat level unknown. Residents nearby, please evacuate as soon as possible."

"I repeat, emergency evacuation notice, emergency evacuation notice. A Monster has appeared on Nanyang Alley in Z City, threat level unknown. Residents nearby, please evacuate as soon as possible."

The Monster alarm in the city center was terribly late, just like the police uncles in TV dramas who always arrive late, rushing over only after the incident has concluded.

King wandered through the alley. Seeing the ceaseless light rain and the streets left deserted by residents fleeing the Monster, he couldn't help but feel melancholic. "Where... am I going to sleep tonight?"

He hesitated for a moment, then casually found an empty hotel to stay in. Lying on the bed, he took out his phone and dialed Sitch's number. G2 had already been eliminated; he needed to inform the behind-the-times Sitch that there was no need to send heroes over and waste their time. At the same time, he wanted to ask for the location of the House of Evolution.

Yes, he hadn't come to Z City just to find Saitama. More accurately, he was looking for Saitama to ask for his help in destroying the House of Evolution to get revenge!

"Hello, Sitch? This is King. The Monster that appeared on Nanyang Alley in Z City has already been eliminated, no need to send any more heroes over. Hmm? It was eliminated by a cyborg named Genos. Oh, so you guys were keeping an eye on him too? Hmm, I don't know him well. If you want to recruit him, go do it yourself, I don't have time. Do you know about the House of Evolution? I mentioned it to you before. The House of Evolution has its sights on me. A while ago, they sent two Monsters to attack me. I don't want to be harassed every day, so I can only make them disappear. Okay, so the House of Evolution is located at the junction of City B, Z City, and Q-City? Got it, thanks."

...

*Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!*

After flying through the sky, the drone carrying Genos and G2 landed in a hidden laboratory.

*Whoosh!*

Upon the drone's return, the lab's protective doors opened automatically. An old but hale and hearty scientist walked out. The old scientist wore an old-fashioned bamboo hat. His face was aged and benevolent, his eyes sharp, and his nose long and pointy. He was dressed in a white lab coat. With his hands behind his back, he looked at the battered Genos, a trace of heartache flashing in his eyes. "Genos, how did you end up like this again? Didn't I tell you? If you can't beat a Monster, you should temporarily retreat, build up your strength, and then try again."

Genos frowned slightly. "Dr. Kuseno, I know you mean well, but if a hero runs away, then who is left to fight?" He hadn't expected to use a line he had just learned so quickly.

So, the old scientist before him was Dr. Kuseno.

"Hmm?"

Dr. Kuseno glanced at Genos. "Who taught you that?" He shook his head. "It doesn't sound like your style of speaking."

Genos said softly, "A hero, a man, a strong one."

"Oh."

Dr. Kuseno didn't press the matter further, instead asking Genos about the details of the fight.

"So this is the robot that seriously injured you?" After getting the full story, he walked over to G2, squatted down, and examined it. His expression suddenly changed. "Genos, do you know the origin of this robot?"

"I don't know." Genos shook his head.

"Is that so?"

Dr. Kuseno froze, his expression dazed as if he were recalling something.

Genos asked quizzically, "Dr. Kuseno, have you discovered some kind of clue?"

"No, nothing." Dr. Kuseno snapped back to reality and asked, "Right, you brought this robot back. Do you have something in mind?"

"Yes." Genos's face grew solemn. His remaining mechanical fist clenched tightly as he said in a deep voice, "Dr. Kuseno, I want to become stronger. This robot has superior equipment to mine. I was wondering if it could be transferred to me?"

The power of that Incineration Cannon made his heart burn with desire.

"Sigh, Genos, you... don't let vengeance devour your soul..." Dr. Kuseno looked at Genos's determined gaze and sighed softly. "I need to examine this robot's structure to see if it's compatible with you."

"Okay, thank you, Dr. Kuseno."

Afterward, Dr. Kuseno carried Genos back into the laboratory, secured him on an experiment table, and then used a machine to drag G2 inside to carefully inspect its structure.

"Hmm? A short circuit?"

After dismantling G2, Dr. Kuseno discovered that the reason it had lost its ability to fight was actually due to rainwater seeping in, causing a power leak in the wiring, which then led to a short circuit and irreparable damage.

He couldn't help but laugh. "That guy was truly careless. I suppose he never considered the possibility of a robot fighting in the rain. To not have proper waterproofing measures and leave such an obvious flaw."

He shook his head and refocused on examining the robot's Incineration Cannon that Genos had mentioned.

Half an hour later, he had removed G2's two arms. A smile appeared on his face as he turned to Genos and said, "Genos, I have good news. The Incineration Cannon on G2 can be transferred to you."

The emotion on Genos's eternally stoic, ice-block face did not waver. He nodded slightly and said, "Okay, Dr. Kuseno, please install it for me. I need to become even stronger."

"This will take some time. It probably won't be fully installed until tomorrow."

Dr. Kuseno was used to Genos's taciturn nature. Ever since losing his parents, Genos had never smiled. He sighed inwardly; this was a pitiful child.

A moment later, he threw himself into the work of modifying G2's Incineration Cannon.

*Bzzzt!*

*Clank! Clank!*

The sounds of electric arcs and tools striking metal rang out intermittently within the laboratory.

A day and a night passed. Dr. Kuseno looked with satisfaction at the two modified arms in his hands. He then turned around, removed the damaged parts from Genos's body, found corresponding replacements from the lab's spare parts inventory, and installed them one by one. In just over an hour, the nearly destroyed Genos was as good as new, his body fully repaired, with only his two arms remaining.

He compared them to Genos's old arms, installed the modified G2 arms, and calibrated the Incineration Cannon. Only then did he pat Genos on the shoulder and say lightly, "Genos, get up and move around a bit. See if there's anything that feels off."

Genos flipped up from the table and gently raised his own arms. He subconsciously activated the Incineration Cannon. The palms of his hands instantly retracted, revealing pitch-black barrels. A crimson light glowed, illuminating his heroic and commanding face.

He fiercely clenched his palms into fists. "Forces of evil, I have become... even stronger!"
