Adelaide rode her bike, shouting excitedly.
There were far more people in the Taoyuan Village direction than in Red Iron Village, and many people saw the strange thing Adelaide was riding.
"Did you see that strange vehicle Miss Adelaide was riding?"
"I saw it, it's just like riding a horse."
"Do you think this will be like the ox cart? Right now, the ox cart can't be in the territory, and this will replace the ox cart in the future."
"Yes! I miss the days when I could ride in an ox cart."
...
The villagers who saw Adelaide riding the bicycle were talking excitedly, full of curiosity about the vehicle.
Adelaide rode his bike all the way to the Great Windmill, and from there rode back to the castle.
Carly arrived at the castle just as she returned, breathless.
"So, Adelaide, what do you think of this bicycle?" Ed asked from below the grape arbor.
"Very good, master. It's much better than walking, but it requires a lot of strength and is more tiring than riding a horse. It's also much bumpier than riding a horse, and it might not be as comfortable as sitting in an oxcart."
Adelaide is great, the car is fun to drive, but the driving experience is actually quite poor. In fact, neither she nor Carly knows that tomorrow they might have trouble even walking.
"Well, Adelaide, this is just an experimental Bicycle, not a finished product yet. There are still many things that need to be changed. You should talk to Roderick about your suggestions. He's working on making a completely new one."
" Lord Ed, is this strange vehicle called Bicycle? That's quite a nice name."
Carly thought the name was very descriptive; a car that moves on its own truly lives up to its name.
"Yes, Carly, you can also tell Roderick if you have any good suggestions."
Ed felt that this first-generation wooden bicycle couldn't be too shabby. It didn't need to be faster than riding a horse, but at least more comfortable than walking. It also needed to accumulate enough experience in its manufacture and use to build up sufficient resources for the second and third generations of the Bicycle.
To put it simply, this is a transitional product, laying the foundation for future Bicycles.
" Lord Ed, how do you stop this bicycle? Do you just stop pedaling and let it stop on its own? But what if something is blocking your way and you need to stop immediately?"
Carly felt that this bicycle was not like riding a horse or an oxcart, where you could control the animal to stop.
"Oh, Carly, go talk to Roderick. There will be a way to solve this later."
Ed remembered that the drawings he gave Roderick last time included a braking system, but Roderick probably forgot to include it this time, as he hadn't noticed this problem before.
"Okay, Lord Ed, I have another question. Could you make a few more? We don't have enough to ride with just one!" Carly had just watched as her sister Adelaide abandoned her and ran away. If there had been two bikes, the situation wouldn't have happened.
" Carly, this car is still in the experimental stage, so we definitely won't make many yet. Once there are no more problems, we'll definitely make a few more."
Ed doesn't actually plan to make too many of these wooden carts; the main purpose now is to accumulate experience for future iron bicycles.
"Okay, then my sister Adelaide and I will go talk to Uncle Roderick first."
Ed feels there's still a long way to go from wooden bicycles to iron bicycles, and it can't be rushed. However, the issue of territory energy is urgent, and he wonders if anyone has seen the letter he wrote last time.
