The next day on the castle rooftop
The castle trio had prepared a simple table, pens, and some relatively large sheets of paper.
What are they planning to do? Ed is going to make a simple, general plan for the visible areas of Greyhold.
He was to draw and record what needed to be built; today, Adelaide was in charge of drawing, and Carly was in charge of writing. He, meanwhile, stood on high ground to observe the entire territory.
Ed stood atop the castle tower, facing the north of the territory. Not far away was a stream flowing down from the mountains to the west of the territory, passing east through Upper Peach Blossom Village and then to the Oakwood Lower Peach Blossom Village farm, eventually flowing into the larger river to the east where they used to trade for salt. The environment there was too harsh, and the river was not navigable, so he had no interest in investigating it now.

Ed directed Adelaide to draw the city wall that would be built on the east side later.

Ed plans to build a large sewage treatment plant and a large sewer network there. These are major projects that cannot be completed overnight.
If the river rises, backflow of water will be a problem, and we need to find a way to deal with it when building pipelines, which may require building sluice gates.
A city wall will be built along that small river in the future, serving as a flood control dike, and the wall will be extended all the way to the mountainside.
The only thing that's advantageous for Ed's development right now is that the territory's terrain is high in the west and low in the east, so water will naturally flow eastward. Therefore, there's no need for him to dig too deep in some places.
However, all of these things will have to be postponed. His current plan is mainly to reserve the space, otherwise it would be bad if the houses were demolished later when buildings were built on top of it.
Thinking of this, Ed seemed to hear that familiar "clang clang clang" sound again. It had just finished here, and then it started again not long after.
Oh, and about yesterday's windmill situation. He plans to build a bathing place near the city wall of Xia Taoyuan Village first, since it's downstream of the stream and close by.
It's a good place to test the sewer network. First, build a small section of the network, then use cement and steel bars to make a large cement pipe.

That's basically the situation to the north. Ed changed direction and faced the Melodious Lake to the south.
The castle faces the beautiful lake, and the shipyard on the lakeside is clearly visible from the castle, even more so than the windmill village further south.
Shipyards will be Ed's main area of development in the future, since most of the trade will rely on ships.
The large waterwheel also needs repair and improvement. The water supply pipes used to be haphazardly constructed, but they may be replaced with concrete pillars, and the pipes themselves may also be replaced with concrete.

What about the east side? Apart from the city walls, there's no other area that needs planning for the time being.
