"What did you say? The ore in the valley has been robbed again?" Count Woxis, sitting in the main seat, felt his anger flare up immediately upon hearing the words of his servant Arthur, who had just returned.
He leaped in front of the servant Ashers and kicked him to the ground.
"Yes, yes, my master. When I arrived at that valley, there was no one there anymore, and all the ore had been moved away."
Arthurs hurriedly straightened himself, already feeling the Count of Worthy's overwhelming rage. Thankfully, he had only gone to check on things; he was somewhat relieved. Although he had just been kicked, he believed the Count wouldn't hold a grudge against him later, as long as he answered the Count's questions properly.
Count Worthy was furious. This time, the losses were even greater than the last! Over a hundred guards, so many miners, and so much food, tools, and weapons had all been robbed.
He has suffered such a huge loss, not even managing to mine a single piece of silver ore. If he were to organize people to mine again, he would have to pay a tremendous price, which he can no longer afford.
He was reluctant to take any more risks; he should kick all those damned barbarians into the lake to feed the fish.
But were those barbarians really that powerful? Could they move so freely in the mountains? Count Worthy was starting to have doubts. He thought his guards would be more than capable of handling the barbarians in that environment. Could it be that the barbarians hadn't stolen the ore?
"Arthurs, have you found anything in the valley?"
Arthur, who was lying on the ground, quickly replied, "My master, the valley seems to have been cleaned up, all the bodies have been buried, and nothing else has been found. However, the bandits left a parchment in a shed, which seems to have been left on purpose."
After saying this, Arthur took the parchment from his bosom and held it above his head.
Arthurs felt a lightness in his hand, and then his body rolled away.
"You're not going to take it out if I don't ask you, are you?"
Count Vouches was furious. Why didn't he have a few smarter servants? He glanced at the servant who had rolled to the side and then unfolded the parchment in his hand.
"Find more people to mine; we're running out of ore. If you delay my important business, you'll be in big trouble."
"You son of a bitch, what does it have to do with me that you're short of ore? Do you think I have enough? Don't let me catch you, or I'll kick your 'DanDan' to pieces." Count Vouchis was so angry he almost spat out a mouthful of blood. These filthy barbarians were truly despicable; they were practically challenging him.
Count Vouches threw the parchment, which landed right in front of Arthur.
"This was left behind by those despicable barbarians, wasn't it? Do you have any ideas on how to resolve this problem?"
Count Worsis, true to his noble character, quickly calmed down after his outburst. However, he had no better solution and could only ask Arthur.
He had already warned the barbarians last time, but it seems it didn't work; they still came to rob you.
However, he's not strong enough to wipe them out yet, as those guys are fast runners.
Arthurs lay trembling on the ground until the Earl asked him a question, at which point he finally calmed down.
"Yes, my master, it must have been left by those barbarians. My solution is to stop digging for now, so they have nothing to steal."
"Is there a better way? If not, you can switch places with Ares."
Arthur was startled. He had finally managed to get out, and he couldn't just go back in for no reason.
"Yes, my master, let me think about it some more."
