She retrieved the landline phone from under the desk and dialed the main switchboard for the Beijing Military Region. "Could you please connect me to Old Commander Huo's residence?" she asked in a soft voice.
Huo Jingyuan was resting at home.
"Of course."
The operators at the Beijing Military Region's main switchboard could trace the location of any landline, so they weren't worried about dangerous individuals calling to stir up trouble.
After a short wait, the female operator's voice came on the line. "I'm connecting you now. You'll be transferred after the beep."
