"You should cut back on coffee; it's not good for your health. Tea, on the other hand, is a legacy from our ancestors. It's good for you, and it refreshes the mind just as well, don't you think?" Brielle Jennings pushed the freshly brewed tea over to Shalma Hughes. "Try some."
Shalma nodded slightly, picked up the teacup, and took a sip. A lingering fragrance filled her mouth, bringing an indescribable sensation. She had to admit that it was the best tea she had ever tasted. Perhaps because it was so delicious, she quickly drank it all.
Seeing Shalma's childlike behavior, Brielle smiled but didn't say anything. She then poured another cup of tea for her before saying, "Stella already told me about what happened that day, which is why I came over today. As an elder, there are some things I shouldn't interfere with, but there are others I absolutely must step in for. Shalma! Do you understand?"
