Dusk settled heavily.
The setting sun stained half the sky a bloody red.
Lin Dazhi walked home, carrying a bag.
But just as he reached the bottom of his apartment building...
Two Public Security Bureau cars were parked there.
His brow furrowed deeply. "Don't tell me another family was attacked by demonic beasts?"
He sighed and shook his head. The state of public safety in the Old District had long since become too ghastly to contemplate. Horrific massacres happened all the time.
On top of that, reports of people mysteriously disappearing had become endless.
It had thrown every city in the Old District into a state of panic.
But the Public Security Bureau was unwilling to deal with these matters. Even filing a report was useless.
Fortunately, he had something to look forward to.
As soon as Lin Yu passed the martial exam, their whole family could leave the Old District and go live in the New District.
The thought improved Lin Dazhi's mood slightly.
