Arthur and Calvin exchanged a glance. To avoid startling the person inside, Calvin stepped forward to knock on the door.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK...
Calvin tried to make his voice sound as calm as possible. "Hello, is this where Miss Belli lives?"
After a moment's wait, there was no response from inside—only dead silence.
"Hello, we're Adventurers from Iron Boot Town..."
Just as Calvin was about to knock again, the door creaked open a crack. A pair of wary, weary eyes cautiously sized them up from behind the gap.
"What... what do you want with me?" a young woman's voice, laced with suspicion, came from inside.
"Excuse me, are you Belli Brooks?" Calvin confirmed again.
At the same time, he slowly pulled back the hood that covered most of his face, revealing a visage that was more weathered and mature than it had been over a decade ago.
"I'm Calvin, a Knight who was once stationed in Iron Boot Town."
