Tara stretched her hand toward her bedside table, where the ringing phone was lying. She managed to reach it after struggling for a few minutes.
"Hello?" she answered the phone without checking who it was.
"Were you sleeping?" the voice asked softly.
Tara was taken aback by the voice. Her eyes widened as she removed the phone from her ear to check who it was.
"Cain," she said in surprise.
Cain hummed in agreement.
"Any problem?" Tara asked.
The other end of the call was quiet for a while before he replied, "I just wanted to check in with you about when I should pick you up."
Tara touched her forehead thoughtfully before replying, "Just come over in an hour or two."
"Okay," Cain replied.
"Anything else?" Tara asked.
"Mmh, not that I can think of. Yeah, I'm off," Cain replied softly.
"Ooh," Tara said before cutting the call.
