A Note From the Author (IMPORTANT):
This novel is my passion project, born from years of unwritten stories swirling, hallucinating, and popping in my mind. While I've poured my love and dedication into it, it is not flawless. There may be unedited sections, minor errors, elusive details, or a lack of lore and tutorials for Touhou, as it deliberately recreates the experience of being a stranger in a strange land who doesn't give a damn about the local customs for a while. I share this world with you because of a personal wish, no matter how dark it is.
There's a saying that goes: "Go big or fall short, never leave an ending so short. Make it worth, before all ends." I made it up. But it means "Go out with a bang."
Also, I planned for this to be visualized in manga or comics in the future! So stay tuned!
My Inspiration:
This novel's narrative structure was inspired by how an AI chatbot responds. It shifts between perspectives, adapting tone to the moment, and weaving multiple voices into a single, fluid narrative. The story blends traditional third-person storytelling with dynamic shifts in voice, perspective, and style.
(Note: AI was my first exposure to novel-like storytelling, so that influence shows. And no, this is not AI-generated content. I have a full plan that spans over a decade of chapters and series ahead of me. Expect this to reach over 500 chapters, multiple series, and beyond. I know the ending of my story, Kasen's dialogue already foreshadowed it in the printed work of ZUN. I didn't even expect it either while researching and reading Touhou recently.)
I've included many references, some intentional, some half-remembered. There's a mindset of "Wait, I can't remember what that reference was called," and I put it in anyway. While I am a fan of Touhou, let me be clear about the lack of lore or explanation: I don't know everything. There's lore I haven't learned, printed work I haven't read, and official games I haven't played because I suck (except the fighting games).
This story follows an emotion-writing first, then character, then plot, and alas, the lore. If I've missed a detail about a beloved character, please let me know! (I'm aiming for a near-canon story from the Main Series while mixing some spice in to cook well.) Proceed only if you are willing to read this. I take criticism seriously and improve the story because of it, unless it's just pure crap, in which case I won't.
