I danced around the room with Lori for a second. "They think they found the guy. We're going to go get Hannah," I told her.
"That's great news," she said. "But why did you put me on the phone?"
"Oh that," I blushed. "Sorry about that. It's just - I thought Marcus would listen to you, because - you know, he's head over heels for you."
"Oh yeah?" she blushed as well. "He's a good guy."
"He's a little irresponsible about it, honestly. I need him to focus. His wandering eyes are partly why we're in this situation in the first place. If he had just kept his eyes on Hannah..."
Lori gave me a nod. "I know you're upset about that, but we're all to blame. Go get her back."
Geoffrey came out from one of the back rooms with a water bottle and his keys. "Stay hydrated," he said. "And please take my car so you won't be followed. Bring home the lady of the house."
I was touched by Geoffrey's thoughtfulness. Knowing he really cared about Hannah, I accepted his offer.
