I couldn't stop thinking about what she said.
This is where you first talked to me.
It didn't make sense.

Standing there, something inside me felt like it was trying to wake up.
"Say something," Tamika said softly.
"What do you want me to say?" I asked. "You're telling me we've met, but I don't remember you."
"Not don't," she corrected. "Can't."
I frowned. "What's that supposed to mean?"
She hesitated.
For the first time since I met her—
She looked unsure.
"Nothing," she said quickly. "Forget it."
"Yeah, that's kind of the problem," I muttered.
She smiled faintly.
"Come on," she said, changing the subject. "Let's work on the project."
We sat down, but neither of us focused.
Every time our hands brushed reaching for the same paper—
Everything felt… louder.
"Do you always make things this complicated?" I asked.
She looked at me, eyes steady.
"Only with you."
My heart didn't like that answer.
Because somehow…
It felt true.
