Christopher ignored him. Instead, he sat down opposite him, took an empty wine glass and poured some wine into it, and raised the glass, "James, I'm sorry for what happened last time. I'll have a drink with you."
With that, he drank the wine in the glass and put the empty glass back on the table. Meeting James' puzzled gaze, he said very calmly, "But to be honest, given another chance, I would still choose to do that."
He didn't hide his selfishness, because it was his responsibility to protect Janice. James then realized that he was referring to the last time when he called. He sneered, "What is wrong with you? What is wrong with protecting your wife? But for me, I had to call you when my wife was gone. What a joke!"
He laughed self-mockingly and was about to get the wine glass. Christopher stopped, "James, don't say that, maybe she just couldn't figure it out for a while."
