"What's wrong?"
Yvonne wondered why he was staring at her.
James caressed his chin with one hand and said thoughtfully, "Wait a minute."
As he spoke, he headed to the closet.
Yvonne stared at his back view in confusion.
After a while, he came out with a small black cloak in hand. He draped it on her shoulder and said, "Much better."
Yvonne did not say anything in response, but she recalled what Mrs. Taylor had said earlier. After a moment of hesitation, she asked, "Did you tell your mother about the banquet today?"
He replied, "Not yet. I'll let her know later." Yvonne nodded and did not say anything else.
Before they left the house, James informed Mrs. Taylor that they would be attending a banquet in the evening. She did not say much but just reminded them repeatedly to not drink too much.
James assured her and left with Yvonne.
