Chapter 6 - Episode 6: “The Third Player Enters the Game”

The knock on the door didn't just break the silence.

It broke something inside the mansion.

Riya Verma stood outside Rudra Rathore's office like she belonged there.

Patient. Calm. Confident.

And dangerous in a way no one had yet stopped.

"Come in," Rudra said finally.

The door opened.

Riya walked inside.

Her eyes first landed on Rudra…

then slowly shifted to Aanya.

A small smile formed on her lips.

Like she had already won something.

Aanya immediately stepped back.

But Rudra noticed it.

Every movement.

Every reaction.

Everything.

Riya tilted her head slightly.

"I hope I'm not disturbing anything," she said softly.

Rudra didn't answer immediately.

His gaze stayed sharp.

"You already are," he said flatly.

A silence followed.

Heavy.

Sharp.

Uncomfortable.

Riya walked a few steps closer inside the room.

"Then I'll be quick," she said.

Her eyes shifted to Rudra.

"I came to ask something important."

Rudra didn't move.

"Say it."

Riya smiled faintly.

"I want to stay here… permanently."

Aanya's breath stopped.

Rudra's expression didn't change.

But the air in the room became colder.

"You don't decide what happens here," Rudra said calmly.

Riya nodded slowly.

"I know."

A pause.

"But I also know something you're ignoring."

Her eyes moved again—

to Aanya.

Aanya felt her heart drop.

Riya continued softly,

"You're not just tolerating her presence… you are protecting her."

Silence.

Even the clock seemed to stop ticking.

Aanya's voice broke the tension instantly.

"That's not true!"

But her voice sounded weak even to herself.

Rudra finally turned slightly toward Aanya.

Just a fraction.

But that was enough to silence her.

Riya smiled.

Because she saw it.

The reaction.

The hesitation.

The control slipping.

Then Riya took one more step forward.

"And her?" she asked softly. "Does she know what she is becoming to you?"

Aanya looked at Rudra instantly.

Waiting.

Afraid.

Confused.

Rudra didn't answer.

But his silence…

was louder than anything else.

For the first time in Rudra Rathore's life…

he didn't have control over his own silence.

That night…

Aanya couldn't sleep.

Her mind kept replaying everything.

Riya's words.

Rudra's silence.

That strange moment when he told her to stay.

She walked toward the balcony for air.

But stopped halfway.

Because Rudra was already there.

Standing in the dark.

Looking at the city like it belonged to him.

"You should be asleep," he said without turning.

Aanya stepped closer slowly.

"I couldn't."

Silence.

Then Rudra spoke again.

"Riya is testing boundaries."

Aanya looked down.

"She always does that."

Rudra turned slightly.

His eyes were darker than usual.

"But she is wrong about one thing."

Aanya looked up slowly.

"What?"

A pause.

Rudra's voice dropped lower.

"You are not a distraction."

Silence hit harder this time.

Aanya's heartbeat rose instantly.

She didn't know what to say.

Or how to breathe.

Rudra turned away again.

But his voice came softer this time.

"And that is the problem."

Aanya froze.

Because she understood.

He wasn't confused.

He was aware.

Too aware.

And somewhere inside the darkness of that mansion…

Riya Verma stood watching from her room window.

Smiling.

Because now…

the obsession was no longer one-sided.

It was becoming a war.
