Chapter 4 - chapter 4

Alex stepped silently from the shadows of his manor, the night air brushing against his skin. Every sense pulsed with the fusion of souls—the cold precision of his past life, Pablo's ruthless cunning, and the raw instincts of the progenitor vampire.

Nyx's voice flitted across his consciousness.

"Finally. Action. Try not to die in your first field exercise, Saint. That would be… tragic."

He ignored the teasing. Tonight, he had a target: Seraphina, the Sin of Wrath. Hidden in the village closest to the palace, she was already whispered about among the few who noticed her existence—a dark mage with immense potential, feared for her power and her volatile temper. She was exactly the kind of subordinate he could mold into a general under his authority.

Alex crouched in the tree line, shadows curling around his body like a cloak. Shadow Manipulation allowed him to see every corner of the village, every movement, every heartbeat. His Status Panel glowed faintly in his mind:

He crouched, studying her from a distance. Seraphina moved like a predator herself—calm, controlled, but with the suppressed chaos that marked her Sin. Her isolation was perfect; she had no allies, no attachments to weaken her.

Nyx's tone turned sharp, teasing again.

"Wow. Creeping in the dark like some brooding teenager. You do realize she could crush you if she knew you were here, right? Don't embarrass yourself before the fun even starts."

Alex allowed a small smirk. "Let her see nothing yet. Observation first, engagement later."

He reached out with his senses, letting Sin Analysis sweep over her. Hidden fears. Latent power. Emotional instability. Everything he could exploit—or elevate. The Sin of Wrath was dangerous, yes, but malleable with the right push.

He extended a shadow tendril toward her, lightly brushing the edge of the manor's perimeter. She didn't notice. Perfect.

Nyx giggled. "Ohhh, I see. Testing the waters. Just make sure you don't overdo it, lusty. Remember, we need generals, not snacks… at least until you figure out who's worth it."

Lust and hunger pulsed through him, amplified by his progenitor bloodline. He clenched his fists, forcing the desire into a controlled coil. Blood Creation was tempting, but he couldn't risk wasting it. Only those truly worthy—those with the potential to survive his power—would be elevated.

He began his approach under the cover of shadows, his body moving fluidly, every motion silent. Seraphina paused, sensing something, and her gaze flicked toward the forest. Alex froze, letting her suspicion hover without confirming it.

Nyx whispered, mockingly:

"Don't tell me you're intimidated. A Saint-ranked progenitor vampire creeping on a girl who's just barely brushing genius-level mage? Pfft. Pathetic. You do know you're supposed to dominate, right?"

Alex ignored her tone. He let the Shadow Manipulation shroud him completely, closing the distance. Then, as he neared, he unleashed a whisper of influence through Loyalty Path, subtly probing her desires: the need for someone to understand her, someone capable of embracing her chaos rather than fearing it.

The subtle push was enough. Seraphina paused again, looking toward the trees as though she felt the presence of a predator—or a savior. Alex's heart, if he had one left, beat in rhythm with her anticipation.

Nyx's voice was suddenly sharp, almost gleeful:

"Ohhh, look at you. Already playing with hearts. Just don't bite her too early. Remember: worthy, Alex. Worthy."

He allowed a faint shadow of himself to step into her line of sight, a subtle silhouette. Curiosity flickered across her eyes, tempered by caution. Perfect. She was intrigued, but not yet trusting—exactly the balance he needed.

Alex smiled faintly, invisible in the shadows. The first step had been taken.

A general in the making. A servant. A future weapon. Seraphina would either rise under his control… or fall trying.

The night deepened. And somewhere in the darkness, a progenitor vampire's shadow moved silently, unseen and unstoppable
