Chapter 2: The Whispers of the Forbidden Forest

The icy wind of the northern lands whipped against Elara's face, but she barely felt it. The physical pain of the bond tearing apart was far worse. Every step she took away from the Silver Moon Pack felt like a thousand needles piercing her heart.

She was now at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. The trees here were ancient, their twisted branches reaching out like skeletal fingers. Most wolves feared this place, whispered legends told of ancient shadows and monsters that lived within. But tonight, Elara didn't care. To her, the monsters inside the forest were less terrifying than the ones she was leaving behind.

"Why, Kaelen?" she whispered, her voice cracking. "After all these years… how could you be so cruel?"

There was no answer, only the distant howl of a wolf—a sound of triumph from the pack house she once called home.

As she stumbled deeper into the darkness, a strange sensation began to pulse through her veins. It wasn't the dull ache of an Omega. It was something hot, vibrant, and powerful.

She looked down at her hands. In the pale moonlight, her skin seemed to shimmer with a faint, silver glow. The deep scratches she had received while crawling out of the hall were already closing, leaving no scars behind.

"My wolf…" Elara realized, her eyes widening. "She isn't dead. She's… changing."

Suddenly, a low, guttural growl vibrated through the air. Elara froze. From behind a massive oak tree, a pair of glowing blue eyes emerged. The scent that hit her was overwhelming—sandalwood, rain, and pure, raw power. This wasn't a normal wolf.

The creature stepped into the moonlight, its fur as black as the midnight sky. It was twice the size of Kaelen's wolf.

Elara should have been terrified, but for some reason, her soul felt a strange pull. The mysterious black wolf tilted its head, watching her with an intelligence that felt almost human.

"Who are you?" Elara breathed, her heart racing for a completely different reason now.

The black wolf let out a soft huff and took a step toward her. Just as Elara thought it might attack, a shadow moved in the trees above. A voice, cold as ice but smooth as velvet, echoed through the clearing.

"So, the rejected Luna of Silver Moon has finally found her way to my domain."
