King Leonard, a handsome and fierce ruler, governed the village of Hydun with absolute power and authority. His subjects dared not question his decrees or look him in the eye, instead adhering rigidly to the rules and regulations he had ordained. King Leonard was polygamous, with nine wives.
Alicia, a lovely nineteen-year-old, lived in the same village with her father, Patrick, who struggled to eke out a living. Despite his efforts, they lived in poverty, barely scraping by.
"Alicia! Alicia!" Patrick called entering into his old sitting room, Alicia was shocked to see her dad smiling, it's been long she's seen her dad smiling
" dad, here I am, what's wrong?" she asked anxiously. " I've found solution to all our problem, am so happy"
" really? dad ,am happy too, what's the solution, dad spill the beans"
Patrick held her daughter and they both sat down then he looks straight into her eyes and become silent. "dad, come on, tell me" Alicia said smiling
"okay, fine, fine, Alicia my daughter, the king want to marry you"
everywhere became silent, and Alicia look blank for a while then she said
"who is king? is that his name?"
"Alicia what are you saying? I mean the king of our kingdom, king Leo...." before he could finish his speech, Alicia interrupted. " dad what are you trying to say? I can't get married to the king ! no way, why will he want to marry me at the first place "
" Alicia, I have no other choice, I took your picture to the palace, to show the king, and he agreed to marry you "
Alicia got more upset hearing this
" dad so you begged the king to marry me, who does that!" she yelled almost in tears
Patrick sighs and pat his daughter
"but this will bring us out of poverty" he said sadly
"dad it's like you're selling me off, because of bride price, I won't get married to the king, no way" Alicia said in a stubborn way, then her dad pulled her closer and apologize to her....
Later on Alicia went to her childhood friend house , Jane,and explained everything
Jane told her to get married to the king saying that will be the best choice
Alicia thought of it too
then she agreed
On the wedding day everything was set, they were waiting for the king arrival
then the royal carriage finally stopped Infront of Patrick house
then the royal guards alighted from the carriage, the king was not there
" where is his Majesty?" Patrick asked
" he is very busy, and won't be able to attend the wedding" after hearing this Alicia eyes was filled with tears but she hold it
The wedding went smoothly and it was time for the royal guards to take Alicia with them
" Alicia, stay safe okay? I know king Leonard will take good care of you" Patrick said
Alicia was speechless
Then Jane walked up to her and hugs her
"everything will be fine Alicia, don't you worry" All Alicia did was to nod her head and the guards led her to the royal carriage
Alicia looks at her dad with a tearful eyes and the carriage set up and drove away
Alicia felt lonely in the carriage, this was not how she planned her marriage to be
Fortunately, they got to the palace and the guards led her to the hallway, on getting to the hallway, the guards bowed and left leaving Alicia to her fate
Alicia walked down the hallway and she saw three ladies dressed in maid attire, the three maids bowed
"you're queen Alicia?" flora asked
Alicia nods her head. "my queen we are your personal maid, am flora, this is Merida, and Clare" Flora said pointing to the two other maids
"come with us your highness" Merida said and the four of them left
On getting to the room, it was so majestic
Alicia was stunned on hearing that it's her room, hmmm I guess father was right after all , Alicia thought
"we have to get you dressed for breakfast, everyone is in the royal dinning" Clare said
and the three maids started styling her hair
"I like it this way, you don't have to style it" Alicia said trying to stop them. " my queen please don't stop us, it's our duty to make you look stunning" Merida explained to her, then Alicia remain quiet, watching the three maids dressing her up, they help Alicia put on a big attire, she was unable to walk properly
"you look so beautiful my queen" flora commented and Alicia nods her head
then they set out to go to the royal dinning
on getting to the entrance
"my queen we will wait here for you, go in and have breakfast" Clare said
Then Alicia opened the big door, then she entered, Alicia was shocked to see a lot of queen she counted then with her eyes and they were nine in numbers
