Chapter 13 - Guest (3)

It was strange. Even after trying every possible way to find information about MI Institute, I had found nothing. Online, connections, even enrolling in Srimnet University and searching every possible database. The result was still zero.

And yet today, like this, I had "picked it up". What a fateful encounter.

"Is there anything left to eat?" JJ suddenly stood up, still looking hungry.

Suddenly, I noticed a drop of blood on the floor. And when I looked up, JJ's face was bleeding. A thin line of blood split her face in half, running from her forehead, across her nose, past her lips, and dripping from her chin.

"Wait JJ, you're bleeding."

"Huh? Really?"

She was completely unaware of it. Most likely the wound on her forehead from last night had reopened because of her movements.

"Hold on, stay still. I'll get something to bandage it. Don't move around and stain the floor."

As a medical student, I always kept supplies ready for situations like this. Gauze, cloth, bandages, antiseptic. Though I had not used them for nearly half a year.

When I brought everything out, JJ was still standing completely still, not even turning her head a millimeter. She was more obedient than I expected.

"Alright, sit down. Let me bandage it."

"Is it really necessary?" She frowned.

"Just listen."

She sighed, and I gently brushed her hair aside to place the gauze on her forehead.

Her hair was jet black and incredibly soft. It felt like touching fine silk. Not rough or stiff like I expected, and it carried a faint scent like wildflowers. If she grew it longer, it would look beautiful…

After wrapping a few layers to secure it, I fixed it with a pin, careful not to make it too tight. Then I scanned her body again and noticed something concerning.

"Raise both arms. Like a T shape."

There were things I needed to confirm on her right arm.

"Sure."

Her skin was soft and slightly thinner than average, with lower elasticity. It looked almost like a specimen in a forensic lab.

Her wrist was covered in cuts, still bleeding, layered with scars. Clearly not the first time she had cut her wrist. Higher up were large bruises, swollen badly, and the bone alignment was off. Most likely broken.

"If it hurts, say something." I said, placing my hand on the bruise.

She said nothing, just nodded and looked away.

"Now follow me. Clench your hand, make a V shape with your fingers."

She tried, but her hand trembled, fingers barely moving before going stiff. Her face showed surprise.

"…I can't close it."

"Yeah. It's broken."

Both radius and ulna were fractured, one slightly protruding. Luckily, not completely deformed. Considering the blows she took, this was already fortunate.

With what I had, I could only make a temporary sling using torn fabric.

After finishing, she tilted her head.

"You're pretty good at this."

"Practice."

Then, I suddenly lifted her chin.

"Stick out your tongue."

She smiled.

"That's a weird request."

Then she slowly opened her mouth.

A three-centimeter cut split her tongue in two.

Like a reptile.

"…What the hell…"

And before I could react—

She suddenly leaned forward.

Wrapped her arms around my neck.

And licked the wound on my temple.

"…What are you doing?"

"I'm cleaning your wound." she said casually.

I swallowed.

"…That's not how it works."

"It kills bacteria, right?"

"…It also adds more."

"…Oh."

"Stop messing around."

And it took quite a while to finish treating her injuries.

When I was done, she looked like a mummy wrapped in white bandages.

"Done. Don't move too much."

"Thanks. Let me try something."

She threw a punch.

Fast.

Too fast.

"Still good." she grinned.

"…You're underestimating me."

"I'm not."

Then she suddenly leaned closer.

Her face inches from mine.

"You're dangerous."

"…What?"

"Even when you look normal. I can still feel killing intent in your eyes."

Silence.

"…You too."

She smiled.

"One. Two. Three."

"I want to kill you."

And from that moment on,

my peaceful life

was gone forever.
