Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 3 Sevi Jace Myers

Sevi's POV

Vacation again.

And yeah.. boring.

Not fun boring. The kind where every day feels the same—wake up late, play, eat, scroll, sleep

That's it.

I was lying on my bed, one hand behind my head, staring at the ceiling.

"Is there nothing to do?" I whispered.

I opened TikTok and just scrolled. After a while, a video about a dating app appeared.

I smiled a little.

"Really? Are people this bored?"

But I didn't skip it.

After a few seconds, I thought,

"Why not try it? Just for fun."

I wasn't looking for a girlfriend. I wasn't desperate. I just wanted someone new to talk to. Something different from the usual routine.

So, I downloaded the app.

When I opened it, everything was in Chinese.

"Nice,what is this?" I laughed.

I swiped around and finally found the settings to change the language.

"There."

I made a simple profile.

Name. Age. Hobbies.

I didn't make a long bio. I'm not into dramatic introductions.

Uploaded a decent picture. Not smiling too much. Just normal.

"Okay, this is fine."

I scrolled a bit.

Nothing too interesting.

"Waste of time," I said, and put my phone down to sleep.

My phone alarm rang at 1 A.M.

I groaned. "Why now?" I whispered, but I remembered I had something I needed to do. No more sleep for me tonight.

There were notifications. One flashed: It's a Match!

I looked at her profile. Aurelia. Her picture was simple, natural, not forced. She seemed confident, not the type who craves attention. More like a cool girl, easy to talk to.

"Hm… should I message her?" I wondered.

Nothing to lose. So I typed simply:

Hi.

A few seconds later, she replied:

Hello.

I smiled slightly. "Okay, she seems interesting," I thought.

I opened the chat and asked casually:

"So.. what are you doing this vacation at this hour?"

"Music, movies, and reading," she replied. "K-dramas and 2000s movies. You?"

I nodded to myself. "Nice… I'm more into games. Call of Duty, sometimes just chill on Fortnite," I typed, keeping it casual.

"Wow, a gamer!" she replied, with a small laugh emoji.

"Yep. But chill, not too hardcore," I typed, smiling to myself.

The conversation flowed easily. Simple, drama-free, natural. Talking to her felt normal but there was something different. Even her small replies, like "haha," grabbed my attention and made me a little giddy.

I glanced at the window. The first light of morning was creeping in. The vibe was fun even online, I could feel a connection.

But I had to be realistic. I typed:

"I have something to do now, so I might not reply for a while. But I'll find a way to keep in touch with you."

A moment of silence. Then she typed:

"Okay. Take care."

I smiled. Simple words, but they hit differently. A little flutter in my chest.

I put my phone down, but I knew I'd come back to it. It wasn't just a chat there was an energy she gave off that made me want to talk again, even though we had never met in person.
