Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

I woke up and found myself still locked up in the same basement I remember before I fell asleep. My whole body aches due to sleeping on the cold and hard floor. I slowly got up and stretched my arms. I rubbed my eyes and yawned.

"So the princess finally decided to wake up, huh?"

I flinched as a gasp escaped my lips.

Looking up, I saw someone sitting comfortably on what seemed like a comfortable chair.

I crawled back and stared at the person with widened eyes. And no, it wasn't him.

"W-Who are you?" I asked in a hoarse, fearful voice.

She raised a brow and stood up from her seat. Her stilettos made a sound as she slowly approached me. She was wearing a bloody red, fitted dress that reached above her knees. Her skin complexion was white and pale, as if she had never been exposed to the sun before. Her hair was tied into a high ponytail, exposing her small, beautiful face to me. Her lips were naturally red and her eye colour was blue. She looks so beautiful. Sophisticatedly beautiful.

"Same question. Who are you?" she asked through gritted teeth.

 "I-I'm... I'm Navelle..." I uttered.

"Navelle, huh?" She looked at me from head to toe. She grimaced. "I don't know what so special about you that he even keeps you alive," she murmured.

"Who... a-are you?" I did answer her question, so she must answer my question, too. I've never seen her face before as I stay in this house. I could tell she isn't a normal person, either. She's like him. A vampire.

"I'm Stephanie. Traiver's girlfriend," she said with a rose brow and a smirk on her face.

I stared at her. Who is Traiver? Is it him...?

 Was that his name?

"I see you're confused. My boyfriend has never actually told pathetic strangers his precious name. Yes, it is him. The one who took you to this place. His name is Traiver."

I nodded my head as I lowered my gaze to the ground. I don't know why but I felt my clenched when she mentioned she's his girlfriend. I had never seen her before.

"Do you know the reason why he took you?" she asked. "Ah, nevermind. I know you do. The real question is, why did you not fight against him?"

She sharpened her gaze and I visibly paled at the venomous stare I got from her.

 "W-What are you talking a-about—"

"Oh, come on. Stop playing innocent here, hunter. What are your exact motives, huh? Playing innocence, aren't we? Well, even if you continue doing it, it's no use. Because at the end of the day, you'll be executed anyway. If I were you, I'd show my real colour now before everything became too late."

 I frowned.

 What is she talking about...?

She irritatedly sighed. She held my face through her hands, her long and sharp nails penetrating into my flesh. I yelped as tears began forming from the corner of my eyes.

"You wh*re," she patted and narrowed her eyes into slits. I saw now cranking my head up because she was still standing while holding my hands. Her beautiful face was scary.

"What d-do you want f-from me?" I shakily asked.

"Want? I want nothing from you but your death!" she hissed.

I trembled. I don't understand these people. They want my death so much as if I'd made a sin to them before and they are too thirsty for revenge. It seems like it. The way they look at me—those emotions behind their cold and raging eyes—it seems like they are holding some grudges against me. And I don't understand it because it was my first time meeting them. I also cannot remember what I did wrong to someone.

"W-Why do you want my death..." I asked, more likely as a statement than a question. My voice was barely a whisper.

She chuckled evilly and tightened her hold against my face. "Because your parents killed my best friend."

I gasped and looked at her dumbfoundedly. My eyes widened as my body went cold.

 "N-No... that can't b-be true—"

"Yes, of course, they did. You can't believe that your sweet and loving parents could kill someone, do you?" she asked tauntingly. "Where do you think all your fortunes came from? Did you ever wonder what kind of job they have? Where did they get all the money and luxury? Because they were hired to kill us, vampires."

My lips quivered as dread took over my system. No, no. That can't be true. My parents won't do such a thing! I would not believe her! She's lying!

She continued, "I bet you already knew all of this. After all, you're going to be one of them. You're a pure blood hunter and just like your parents, you will kill innocent lives just for the sake of money."

My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach.

"N-No... No. You're lying! Stop it!" I cried. I didn't mind how tight her grip on my jaw was and how it drew blood from my flesh. My body became dumb after the explosion of revelation.

But I refused to believe it.

My parents are kind people. They won't do such things!

She was on the verge of slapping me across the face, when the door suddenly opened and Traiver went in.

"Remember why I sent you here, Stephanie."

Stephanie gritted her teeth. "But I want to kill her right now, babe."

"No. You're not." He crossed his arms across his chest and leaned his back at the concrete wall. Our eyes met.

He has no emotion on his face. After what happened last night, he left and I'd never seen his face until now. After what he did to me, it turns out he has a girlfriend.

"S-She's lying..." I sobbed and looked at him pleadingly. "... right?"

 He stared at me blankly.

 "I'm afraid not."

My heart sting. "YOU ALL ARE LYING!" I exclaimed and glared at them.

 "Shut up, b*tch!" Stephanie hissed.

"Faster, Stephanie. Do it right now. We have to go."

She clenched her jaw. "Fine. I'll give this pathetic human a lesson." She shifted her gaze on me. I trembled as my heart began pounding really hard as fear engulfed me. "I wonder what your hunter blood tastes..."

I opened my mouth but no words came out. My eyes widened in fear as she leaned down closer to me and her gaze was fixated on my throat.

Before I could even crawl back away from her, she pushed me against the floor and went on top of me. She, then, had her fangs buried on to my flesh as she fed on me. I gasped in horror but couldn't do anything to protest.

And from the corner of my eyes, I saw him smirking at my pitiful state...

After almost sucking me nearly to death, Stephanie pulled away and licked her lips. She had a smirk plastered on her face when our eyes met.

My vision started to get blurry. I could hear my own heartbeat beginning to slow down, and neither of the two of them paid attention to my dying figure.

I heard him say, "Job well done, baby."
