Chapter 5 - Chapter 5- God Maker

Around the cave I see many items. They seem to be more like collectibles than anything of actual use. "Don't touch my stuff dude." "I was not going to touch your stuff." "Just making sure." "What is all this stuff anyways?" Deus picks up an iron bar. "It's just stuff the Duskies gave me. They're very kind people, even though they are scaly and slick. I like them. They like me." "Most people hate us. Even other Deities." Deus gives a scoff laugh. "Us? No, no, no there is no. Us. It is me and me only. You're just late to the party and nobody can be too much of a dick because you probably won't help them. I am the hated one. Not you" In that moment Deus picks up a brick and throws it at me. I move out the way and then I am tackled to the ground. "You ruined me! You're the reason I have nothing you selfish prick!" Deus starts trying to punch me. I block as much as i can but one punch hits my jaw and shatters it. I quickly regenerated it and I then throw him into a wall. His back hits it and I charge at him. I throw a punch but he cuts my arm off with a laser and then headbutts me. He goes to kick me and I then spawn a mine on my chest, when his foot connects with my chest the mine blows his leg off completely. As he falls I shoot a knee up into his jaw and I too fall to the ground. We both regenerate. "Deus this is not going to fix anything." I stand up and dust myself off. Deus gets up also. "That's what you think. You and your cluelessness. You owe Genitor your time. I owe him my body. You can't give anything more than what you were supposed to give before. You are here to help me and then what? I'm still going to be the same old bitch by the end. I'm still going to be that same old bitch doing the dirty work as you just waltz around peacocking your freedom. Fuck you Spes." Deus pauses. "When I said he owns my body I did not mean he sexually owns my body. I meant like a slave." "I assumed you meant a slave Deus." Me and Deus stare at each other. Dried blood flacks to the floor. His room is somehow more organized after the scuffle than before. "Don't you dare try and talk to me like I'm broken either. We aren't in the same situation here. You have the chance of being a free man and you have no clue what it's like to be a servant treated like a slave. I can't work off what I've got, but you can." Deus walks to one of his shelfs. "Before you help me, we're talking. I am not working with someone I can't see eye to eye with." Deus goes to a table and pulls out a chair before sitting in it. "Sit. I don't feel like standing" I walk over, pull out my own chair, and sit. "Ask anything. Please. Well, anything not stupid." The look on his face is not one of anger but one of need. The need to be understood and not shoved down by another Deity. "Just tell me what you mean by it is my fault." "I needed you to help me make Gods. People need to like the gods so without me knowing how they feel I would ruin my assignment, but you never came. I waited and waited, but no, you never came and I was left all alone like a dog waiting for someone to take them off the street and save them. Genitor saw I had no work and just. Took. I was his servant. I kept people in check and I was made into a slave. Forced to serve. Forced to kill and torture. I like the Duskies because they don't remind me of my chains and everything included with them." "Deus i am sorry. I did not mean to ruin your life. It was selfish of me-" "Shut the fuck up please. I'm not stupid. I can understand that you feel bad and you're sorry, but I asked for questions not empathy. If you are going to talk then just ask. Don't give me some unwanted answer" I nod. "Okay, I understand. I had a human tell me a story about how you ripped a woman apart and then regenerated her. Did Genitor tell you to do that?" Deus mouths yes before saying it aloud. "Yes. I didn't want to gut a woman on the street but I had to. He wanted me to completely kill her but I decided that she didn't deserve that so I regenerated her. Genitor has made me do way worse in the past and even recently." "As in?" "I have the most destructive capability of all of us. I am able to cause damage without needing to absorb it back in like Genitor or to completely erase its existence from reality like Preditor. I was once sent to a planet who had millions of anti-Deity protesters and I was sent for the sole purpose of destroying them completely. I killed so many people so easily. I set an example and then I blew it up. I've done this to galaxies and universes before. Just destroy the bad ones piece by piece and make it known that we are that powerful. Isn't that just amazing?" "I would absolutely hate doing that. I find myself lucky I don't have that much potential." Deus stands up. "Holy shit you just actually said 'don't' instead of do not." "I did? Maybe all of the people who talk like that have made me mess some words up. It is all fine though." Deus is laughing now.

"I like you Spes. You're a cool guy even if you are a boot licker, but I am too so maybe we're meant to be friends." Deus is a lot more lively now. Who knew one word could make someone so happy. "Come on, ask more. Give me more questions." "What is it exactly you need help with?" Deus stops smiling. "Fuck. I guess I forgot. I honestly don't know what's worse. Getting your help or making you leave. Both seem like horrible situations." "Why?" "If you leave then Genitor is going to be up my ass more than he already has been, but If you help me then I will lose everything." Deus paces. "What do you mean by everything?" "All of my power. I lose everything I was made for and then I just become nothing but a useless husk." the scar on Deus arm opens up. Inside is a swirling ray of multiple shades of blue with colored middles such as red, green, and yellow. "What are those?" "These are all my powers, to make a God I need to get rid of the one that correlates to that God's power. Once gone I can no longer use that ability. Genitor wants me to use them all. That's why I'll be a husk. I can't teleport or use anything. I'll be stranded on this planet. With the Duskies." "You really are a slave." "I told you!" Deus kicks the brick he threw earlier. The brick shots straight through the wall of the underground cave. It carves a straight small passage to the outside. "Ahh shit it's going to start sticking in here. We should probably get to it." "You are really going to give up everything?" I don't really have much of a choice." I shrug. "You do have a point there. I guess we should get to it." Deus stands next to me and a ring of fire swarms us before we end up on the surface near Fragmon. "What's the point of the fire?" "It's a shield against the amount of energy it produces. If I didn't have it then it would kill everything on the planet and probably a few solar systems away." "Why not just jump?" "I have horrible math skills. I can't control how much power I jump with so I'd end up jumping through planets." Me and Deus start walking. We walk onto a mountain nearby and he stands at the peak. "Why not just teleport right on top of the peak?" "I like walking. It makes things feel simple. I feel like I have no duty when I walk. No urgency or anything. Just peace. Now anyway, we're going to start now. I'll give you the run down. I will reach into my arm." The scar on his arm splits open. "And I will grab an orb." He reaches in and digs around before pulling out a powder blue orb with a lime green center. "I think this is my ability to regenerate others. A god of life would do good with this power." He crushes the orb in his hand and it becomes a genderless model. "Alright now see into your head and feel the emotions that come out of what I make. Close your eyes and concentrate on the emotions in your head." "I actually have a problem. I can not open the vault in my head." "Are you serious?" Deus regenerates the orb and puts it back in his arm. "Alright, new problem. Why?" "Atomus put a bunch of structure and atoms in it. If I open it, it might flood out." "I have a great idea. I'll go into your vault. Make sure everything is stable. The trio taught me a thing or two about how to stabilize matter." "You will go into my vault? How is that even possible?" "Like this." [Deus grabs his head and knocks him out before shrinking down into his brain. I'm glad to be back. Deus makes his way through his mind. He flows through the nerves in his head and ends up outside of the vault. Deus fazes through the vault door; he leaves half his body in the door as he sees an ocean of crimson liquid flowing throughout the inside of the vault.] Who the hell is talking? [What the hell?] Yeah what the hell i can hear you. Who are you? [i'm none of your business bitch] I put my hands on the vault wall and shoot an overload of power straight into it. "Any words dickhead?" I hear nothing. "That's what I thought." I take my hands off the wall and faze completely out of the wall falling straight down into the liquid.

I splash into it and bob up to the surface where I look around for something that can help. "This place is an absolute mess." I see some sort of island structures. It looks like islands of meat and mass. I assume those are the representations of emotions of every creature. I torpedo myself through the liquid until I hit land. I look back at the door and see that most of the door is holding back the liquid. "This is going to be a shit show." I dig around through the meat and find out it is indeed emotions. A few representations fly out before I close it back up. "Alright, I probably shouldn't do that again. Unless." I look around for how I can allow his vault to open without causing a rush of whatever this stuff is to fly out his vault. I jump from island to island and then I get an idea. I can push a bunch of this meat to the front of the vault and create a dam around the vault door to keep this red shit in his vault. "Alright, got a plan, got a plan, but how do I even do this without ruining everything? Unless." I assume that all of this is indestructible since everything in our vaults should beI summon a huge ring of fire to enclose the mass of meat and I teleport it above the door where it drops and cause a huge wave of red to crash away from it. "Okay Now just to create a dam out of this." I shove my fist into the middle of the mass and blow it up causing a hole to form. I jump down the hole and start pushing the meat away from the door. I scrap and peel back layer upon layer of mas to be able to reveal the vault door. I blow up more and more of the flesh causing it to spray away from the contact point. The area smells of burnt meat and nauseating stench. It even makes me want to vomit and I'm a Deity. Atomus really filled his vault with so much shit. Maybe it could come into use for spes later at some point. With a few final explosions and pushes I get most of the flesh out of the way but there is still liquid in the way. I jump into the air and slam back down making the liquid fly up and out of the semi circle I have created around the door. The dam seems stable enough to keep this out forever most likely. I go to the vault door and push it open before making my way back out of his head. All I hear is nothing. Just silence. The quiet in his mind. It's uncanny how quiet the Deity of hope and emotions head is. I'm surprised it's not so loud that I would need to burst my own eardrums just to walk through. I climb out his ear and grow back. I sit and wait. Waiting for him to wake up and rise again. Looking down at him I think of how life will be when I can't do anything anymore. I will be a husk. A used up source of entertainment and fuel. No one wants to help me but I'm expected to help all who force me. I'm only doing this because I will be free for once in my entire existence, but will I be? I would just have given up everything that makes me. Me for what? A little peace of mind. I just am stuck in a circle and no matter what decision I make I will be sent by my spirit or by Genitor to suffer more. Maybe Spes can escape that fate after he's done. I hope he does. He deserves freedom even if he caused so many problems for us others. I do not really know if I am ready or not but I am willing to try just for a drop of life to run down my throat and fill my lungs with fresh, clean, and beautiful air. I just want things to be beautiful. I want to feel beautiful and freed from the shackles of existence that force me down into the dirt like a convict who can't fight back or defend himself from the false prosecution of the system above all. Maybe I am more human than I thought I am and that is a good thing. I think I would want to be more like them. More dynamic to change. They want order but they are not as aggressive as us Deities. I admire the work of humans even if they have to sadly live in the same omniverse as their creators. The strongest people are faced with the most horrific acts and come out without forcing their pain and fear onto another just to rid their mind of their pain. I will live with this pain. And now I look down at you Spes. "You will win whatever punishment that is faced upon you. At least I hope you win. Win for us and if you don't just know I'll be happy one of us tried to fight the system. Bless you Spes. forever be on with the skills to live in a world that no longer wants you for you but what you bring. I am glad to say that you are my friend. You have the capability to save yourself and maybe us. But I wish you would save your own soul before mine comes into play. The humans love you. Use that to save them. Bless the gravity. Bless the weight."

I wake up and see Deus sitting right next to me. "What happened?" I lift my head up and push myself onto my feet. Deus rises. "I opened it. Lets just continue please. For real this time. I don't want to wait much longer." Deus walks to the edge. His scar splits open once again and he pulls out another orb. This one is navy blue with a pale center. He crushes it and sends it out into the air forming a genderless model. "Okay so what you're going to do is just close your eyes. Since you can feel emotions I'm assuming that you can distinguish between everything. Once we make a few models, people like I can give up my powers to make them all come true." "Okay, we can get to it then." I step up to the edge and close my eyes. "I am ready." I can sense he has started since my mind can feel the rush of something. It has not gotten close enough for me to truly inspect what it is up until it hits the entrance to my vault. I feel It is sorrow. "They are sad at what you have made." I'm making the gods look like Primordial Deities. Just keep them closed." I feel sorrow and anger for most but then I feel neutral. "Wait this one people are neutral on." I open my eyes and it is me. "It's because you're unknown, not because you're the greatest. It's because you're the best" "What me? No. I can already feel how people think of me. They do not think that." "They will. They will one day." I shut my eyes again and Deus continues to scroll through body types and characteristics. Some gods will be fat and others will be bulky. Some Gods will be intelligent and some Gods will not. A spectrum of characteristics has been made but we still need to find the most desirable in that spectrum. As my eyes are shut I feel a strong feeling of disgust go through my vault. "People are repulsed by this one. What did you even make?" "I made a dick." Deus starts laughing and I open my eyes to see it is indeed a human penis. I do think it is silly but I find it somewhat funny and I too start laughing. "Really? That is awfully crude of you." Deus stops laughing. Yeah it is pretty crude but, It's funny. Anyway, we should get back on track." I nod solemnly but I am definitely not excited for what is to come. To see my new friend lose no matter what, but as I think I soon feel a rush of happiness and faithfulness in my mind. "Deus you found it. You found the sweet spot." I open my eyes to see an almost average man. A very muscular man yes but most humans look like this. "They are just normal guy." Deus frowns. "Why must they be so easy to please by muscle." "We are all muscular though." Deus rolls his eyes. "Well Spes who wants to fight when you have a bunch of loose skin bouncing around and flapping around. We made our bodies for efficiency not looks. I mean I don't find much wrong with being large but if you're a fighter it's a big no, but I can't argue with the people of the omniverse." "Deus. Are you ready?" Deus nods. "Yeah, I guess it's time to lose everything i have ever known." The scar on his arm starts spewing out orbs. "I just wish I could keep something. Instead I have to make myself even more worthless than I'm already treated." I know not to comment with pity or sympathy but I feel bad for him. I would never want to be forced to lose all my power either. I wish I could comfort my friend "Spes shatter the orbs." I shake out of my thought and I create a grinder where the orbs are sucked into and smashed apart and broken open. Thousands of colors fly out of the grinder into the sky most likely finding a universe to inhabit. For minutes I sat there and watched Deus lose everything. As the last orbs fly out Deus closes his scar. "There, I'm all out of power. Just a husk but. I'm a happy husk since Genitor can finally throw me away and discard my corpse." He exhales a breath of relief. "Free at last." Deus looks up into the sky where the colors are shooting through space looking for a place to call its new home. They swirl around creating a prism-like rainbow effect across the planet. "It's beautiful, you know. All of these powers running through the Omniverse. I'm so proud of what I have done." "Deus, what is going to happen to them?" Deus looks down from the sky and then at me. "Once they reach a place they want to live they will transform into the Gods they were meant to be. They'll be free, and it seems I'll be free now too. Thank Deus." "Did you just thank yourself?" "It's like thank God for the normal people but for us it's thank Deus. The Duskies started saying it." "Thank Deus." We both sit down at the peak of the mountain looking up at the sky as colors shoot across. Me and Deus laugh together on the top of this mountain as we joke about life. I feel like he's happier than ever now. I can feel it. And I'm happier too.

Once me and Deus calm down from our burst of joy we stand up. "Spes do me a favor." "Yeah sure what is it?" "I can't jump like you can. I jump weird and I might end up crashing through planets or ending up somewhere I shouldn't. I want you to take me to a planet you think I'll fit in on. I don't want to live here alone. The Duskies aren't enough" I only know one. Barbadon but he is known there and it is not for a very good reason. "I have a planet but you are going to have to prove you have changed." "It's Barbadon, isn't it?" I nod and Deus nods back. I grab his arm and launch off and we both land instantly. I let go of Deus. A group of people see Deus and run off screaming. "This is going to be hell." I take Deus straight to Bound's tavern. "Bound, do not be alarmed by who you are about to see." I shout this from outside of the door. "The hell are you talking about?" Bound walks out and pauses as he sees Deus. "Well shit. Not what i had in mind" Danity comes out after Bound and sees Deus. "You. You piece of shit." "You look like shit." Danity and Deus look at each other. "What the fuck are you doing here?" "I'm moving in." "Oh hell no. You're not coming anywhere in this area after what you did." "I don't think a human has any authority to tell me where or where not I can reside. Move out of my damn way." I push Danity aside. "Both of you need to stop." Deus grabs me and pushes me away. "No, I want to hear what he has to say." Danity looks up at him. "You're a no good beast. A creature who lacks heart and conviction. A murderer and a torturer." "I'm more of a slave than anything, or at least I was. Whatever I did specifically to set you off was not my idea but my order." "Slave? How does a Deity become a slave?" "When their owner is another Deity. Genitor." Danity goes silent but nods. "Yeah, Genitor is worse. The reason I hate you is because you cut open that girl. Me and her had a thing and we still do." "I would apologize but an apology never fixes something serious." Danity laughs a little. "You've got a point. I think I could like you, asshole. We think the same." Deus smiles. "Yeah I think we could work something out." "Alright meet me inside when you're done. Bye Spes." Dainty and Bound retreat back into the tavern. "He seemed to like me quickly. That's weird." "It is because you did not kill her and he finds you to be similar to him in a way. He thinks you two can make up and be friends." "You got that all from reading his emotions didn't you?" "I mean yes I am the concept of emotions. It is easy for me, but I find that it is time for me to go." "Let me pick the next guy." I hand Deus the list and he starts scanning through it. "Fortuna. He's a good one. He's funny." Deus hands me back the list with his name already crossed off. "I'll hopefully see you soon Spes." "Don't wait up too much." "Holy shit you said it again!" I blast off the planet leaving Deus to be amazed.
