Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Notting Academy

Time flies like an arrow, and the days slip by like a shuttle.

In the blink of an eye, three months have passed since the zu zong awakened his martial soul.

In Notting City, Fasno Province, Notting Academy welcomed the new semester.

Old Tom from Emperor Soul Village, along with Old Jack from Holy Soul Village, each led their respective villages' once-in-a-century geniuses to Notting Academy to register.

Along the way, although Tang San still gritted his teeth whenever he saw the zu zong, wishing he could immediately give him a good beating, he held back to prevent a repeat of the last incident.

He held back, but the zu zong wouldn't. Since gaining strength, the zu zong had clearly become bolder, full of confidence, and relentlessly mocked Tang San.

"Little San! I heard you cried after I saw Master Su Yuntao off last time!"

"Little San! What happened to your face? There looks like a slap mark. Luckily it's not very obvious, otherwise, your already ordinary face wouldn't even be considered ordinary."

"Little San! I heard from Er Ya next door that you got slapped by your dad after you went back. Is that true?"

"Did your dad slap you? Uncle Tang is too cruel! It's been three months and it hasn't faded. I'll help you remove his oxygen tube when he gets old."

"Little San, why is your face red and you're baring your teeth? Did your rabies relapse?"

  "Little San... Little San!"

Tang San: I'll endure it, I'll endure it. I'll make you pay when we get to Notting Academy! Ah... I can't hold back anymore!

Tang San collapses! (Of course, it's fake.)

Around noon, the four finally arrived in Notting City.

Old Jack took Tang San to the Notting City Spirit Hall to apologize to Su Yuntao.

  Gift: Five ten-pound white radishes—Old Jack's spirit.

Old Tom and the zu zong had no reason to go there, so they arrived at Notting Academy first.

Needless to say, as in the original story, the gatekeeper wanted a bribe.

The zu zong didn't hesitate; his Sharingan flashed briefly as he exchanged a glance with the gatekeeper.

The gatekeeper was just an ordinary person; how could he withstand the clan leader's genjutsu? He immediately and respectfully welcomed the clan leader and Old Tom into Notting Academy.

The gatekeeper clasped his hands and said, "Oh my! No wonder you look so familiar! It's the renowned and legendary village chief of Emperor Soul Village, bringing with him a genius that Emperor Soul Village has only seen once in a century—no, once in a millennium—to grace our Notting Academy with his presence! My apologies for not recognizing you!"

The gatekeeper's earlier troublemaking demeanor had already prepared Old Tom for being looked down upon and even having to pay to avoid trouble, but he hadn't expected Emperor Soul Village's reputation to have reached here!

Hmm! It seems Emperor Soul Village really did produce a Soul Emperor!

Old Tom, mimicking the gesture, clasped his hands in return, saying, "Thank you, thank you. This is my—no, this is the clan patriarch's—spirit certificate. Take a look." He then handed over a standard-issue piece of paper.

Old Tom: Damn it, I bit my tongue! I'm so used to calling him that; I can't call him "brat" outside anymore. (Zu zong: You called him that again, didn't you?)

The gatekeeper took the spirit certificate from Old Tom, didn't even look at it, and respectfully handed it to the zu zong. He then said to Old Tom, "I trust you enough! Just give this little genius the spirit certificate to take in; someone will help him register."

Considering that Notting Academy didn't allow outsiders to enter, and that there were many teachers inside, the zu zong bid farewell to Old Tom at the gate. Before leaving, he told him to keep an eye on his pillow, as there were dozens of gold spirit coins left for him by the zu zong.

Incidentally, the zu zong also added a small illusion to the gatekeeper's illusion spell.

In the afternoon, after several hours of frantic pleading and fervent pleas for Su Yuntao's forgiveness—even the proud Tang San was forced to kowtow three times and offer five ten-pound white radishes as an apology—Master Su Yuntao finally forgave Tang San and returned his Martial Soul Certificate.

Old Jack, hand in hand with Tang San, led the young man to Notting Academy.

Unlike the humiliation in the original story, the gatekeeper was very welcoming, politely seeing Old Jack off and even offering to take Tang San to the registration location, which greatly improved their gloomy mood.

Tang San couldn't help but think, "It seems there are still many good people in this world!"

At the same time, Tang San resented Su Yuntao's indiscriminate actions and planned to beat him up after graduation to vent his anger.

The gatekeeper led Tang San by the hand through a winding, circuitous path (it only circled Notting Academy four or five times). Tang San, out of his previous goodwill towards the gatekeeper, didn't suspect anything amiss.

An hour later, the gatekeeper led Tang San to a dark, empty classroom, lit a small candle for him, and told him a teacher would be coming soon before leaving.

Tang San remained unsuspecting, and so, until 3 a.m., no one came. Tang San once again shed tears of regret.

He knew he had been tricked again.

Of course, that's a story for later. After registering,

  the

clan leader became a work-study student and was assigned to Dormitory Seven—he had no choice; he had given all his remaining gold soul coins to Old Tom, and he was almost out of money for food. The zu zong

planned to stay in Notting City for a few years, learning the basic theories.

Although he was very attracted to the bodies of the beauties in the Spirit Hall (ugh! despicable!), he thought that even if he entered the Spirit Hall now, unless he obtained twin martial souls, the chances of being valued would be very low, let alone seeing any beauties.

It's important to know that not many people recognize the Blue Silver Emperor. Most people's understanding is—even if a mutated Blue Silver Grass has innate full soul power, how strong can it be?

This zu zong didn't want to expose his twin martial souls so quickly and become a target of everyone's criticism; developing stealthily was the best strategy.

Entering the Seventh Dormitory, the clan leader looked around.

Alright! That 100,000-year-old rabbit hadn't arrived yet. But that was fine too. If something happened between him and that old rabbit, sparks would fly, and he wouldn't be able to attack it anymore. Attacking his own wife—was that even human? That was animalistic.

Even in his previous life, the zu zong didn't have much affection for the old rabbit! So out of sight, out of mind.

The specific reasons are left for the reader to ponder!

"Hey, newbie, take this punch first. Martial Soul Possession—War Tiger!"

Without any surprise, Wang Sheng attacked the clan leader.

The zu zong was too lazy to counter, shook his head, and replied indifferently, "Don't make a sound before you attack next time."

With that, he directly gave the opponent a 360-degree aerial calisthenics + freefall exercise.

In the blink of an eye, Wang Sheng fell to the ground, his backside a bloody mess.

Luckily, zu zong braced himself against the back of Wang Sheng's head with his foot; otherwise, it probably wouldn't have been just a bloody mess!

Seeing how powerful zu zong was, subduing him with his Martial Soul Possession in one move, Wang Sheng rubbed his aching backside and got up, pleading,

"Boss, from now on you're the boss of our Seventh Dormitory!"

And so, zu zong became the new boss of the Seventh Dormitory.

That night, while everyone was away, zu zong took out the quilt he had stolen earlier from his system space and spread it on his bed.

After dinner, zu zong sat cross-legged on the bed and began to cultivate. Tomorrow, he planned to borrow a token from Su Yuntao to enter the Soul Beast Forest and obtain his first Soul Ring.

Meanwhile, Tang San was in a terrible situation. It was already dark, and because of what happened at noon, Tang San was too angry to eat lunch. As for the dry rations he brought—the gatekeeper said he was hungry and gave them to him!

Tang San was both cold and hungry. Even with the protection of the Mysterious Heaven Skill, his stomach was still growling loudly.

Finally, at three in the morning, someone opened the door to the small classroom.

Tang San burst into tears again.

"Finally, a teacher has come! Waaah!"
