Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Fatal "OK"

Chapter 1: The Fatal "OK"

The sharp, persistent ringing of a phone broke the morning silence. Miss Ana slowly stirred from her sleep, her movements graceful even in her half-awake state. She was breathtakingly beautiful—as if a celestial nymph had descended straight from the heavens to grace the earth. Still blinking the sleep from her eyes, she reached for the phone.

"Hello?" Ana's voice was soft but steady.

"Hey, Ana! I'm in a total mess! Please, you have to help me!" It was Shila, sounding completely panicked.

"Wait, slow down... what happened?" Ana asked, trying to process her friend's frantic words.

"My parents... they've fixed a blind date for me! Do something, please!"

Ana sighed, her practical mind already working. "Okay, calm down. I'm heading to college now. Meet me there, and we'll figure it out."

The Princess and the Soldier

Ana got ready and headed downstairs, looking absolutely radiant. At the dining table, her father was waiting. He looked up, surprised to see her ready so early.

"What happened, baby?" he asked with a warm smile.

"Dad, Shila is in a bit of a crisis. I'm going to meet her first and then head straight to college."

"At least have some breakfast before you go," her father insisted.

"No, Dad. I'm already late, and I don't want to delay any further," Ana replied hurriedly as she rushed out the door.

Her father looked at his wristwatch, a puzzled expression on his face. "It's only 9:00 AM... college doesn't start until 11:00. How is she 'late' already?" He chuckled at his daughter's sudden burst of energy.

To the world, Ana was her father's only child—the "Princess" raised with boundless love after her mother passed away during her birth. She was the star of her college, a brilliant scholar, and the secret crush of every boy on campus. But Ana remained indifferent to the attention. She didn't just want to be a protected princess; she wanted to be a "Soldier"—a strength for her father, just as he had been for her.

The Coffee Shop Confrontation

Later, at a cozy cafe, the aroma of roasted beans filled the air. But Ana was far from relaxed. She sat in silence, maintaining a perfectly unamused expression while watching Shila's over-the-top melodramatic antics.

"Are you even listening?!" Shila wailed. "Say something!"

"What should I say?" Ana replied calmly. "You haven't even seen the guy yet."

"I don't need to see him! I'm only twenty, Ana. I'm not ready to get married!"

"Then just say no," Ana said simply.

"How? What will my parents think? They'll be so disappointed!"

Ana had seen enough of the drama. "Give it to me. I'll handle it."

Before Shila could protest, Ana snatched the phone. She quickly typed a blunt message to the guy's number, stating that Shila was absolutely not interested in this blind date. She hit send.

Almost instantly, the screen lit up with a single-word reply: "OK."

Shila turned pale. "Wait, wait! You just told him? What if my parents force me anyway? What if he snitches to them? What's going to happen now?"

Ana stared at the short reply on the screen. She didn't realize it then, but that one simple word was a trigger—a spark that was about to turn her peaceful world upside down and change her destiny forever.
