Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: First Day as His Secretary

Jay walked into Watson Enterprises the next morning, her bag slung over her shoulder. Her stomach twisted with nerves and excitement. Today, she would officially start as Keifer Watson's personal secretary—a role she knew would test her patience, her skills, and maybe her sanity.

The office was quiet. Too quiet. Too clean. Too intimidating. She spotted Keifer at his desk, eyes glued to his laptop, fingers moving quickly over the keyboard. He didn't even look up when she entered.

"Good morning, sir," she said politely, placing her bag on the chair beside her.

Keifer's gaze finally lifted. Cold, calculating, and sharp as ever. "Sit."

Jay pulled out the chair, careful not to knock anything over.

"You'll handle my schedule, emails, meetings… everything," Keifer said, almost without looking at her. "Do not forget a single detail."

Jay nodded. "Understood."

He finally leaned back, folding his arms. "Good. Then we'll begin."

Their first task was simple—organize a board meeting for tomorrow. Easy enough. Except Keifer didn't just hand her the details; he gave her a thick folder filled with notes, memos, and client profiles, all stacked haphazardly.

Jay took a deep breath. "Alright… first step…" She flipped through the papers, trying to make sense of it all.

Keifer watched her silently.

Minutes passed. Jay tried to stay calm, typing emails, arranging meetings, making phone calls. She was efficient, fast, organized. But every time she looked up, she saw him standing behind her chair, watching, judging.

Finally, she sighed. "Do you want it exactly like this, or should I—"

Keifer cut her off with a sharp tone. "Fix it. Your way."

Jay blinked. "My way?"

"Yes. Impress me."

Her lips twitched in a small, sarcastic smile. "Easy. Piece of cake."

He raised an eyebrow. "We'll see."

The rest of the day passed in a blur of meetings, phone calls, and constant tension. Every time she thought she had done well, Keifer would add a note, a correction, or a raised eyebrow that made her blood boil.

By the time the office emptied, Jay leaned back in her chair, exhausted but satisfied. She had survived her first day as his secretary.

Keifer, meanwhile, closed his laptop slowly, glancing at her with something unreadable. For a second, just a second, he looked… impressed.

Jay didn't notice. She was too busy planning how to survive tomorrow.

Because with Keifer Watson, every day was going to be a battle.

And she wasn't about to lose.
